Not a bad suggestion. Except Engine and gear this vehicle is not expensive than what I drive these days.
plus, a good and reliable engine and gear of LC80 (1HDTE or 1FZFE) last for like 300,000 km or beyond. What you have to do is to take good care of them. Use proper gear and engine oil with good quality coolant

60 series is the first choice but I also haven't seen any in good nick.

Really like the 80 series how it is. Can't bear to see it as an off roader and lose its charm.

this is what Land Cruisers are developed for. use some sedan as daily mule only in Pakistan it is considered as status symbol maintained as cost of using Rolls Royce / Bentley

Become an off roader and loose its charm.... An 80 series with no mud has no charm. I agree with capsat, no point of an suv if it's afraid to get dirty

Agreed. My point was that I don't like an 80 series built as an off roader. It's quite capable and looks best in it's stock form which is more than for me.

I spent 1.5 hours cleaning mine. It was so dirty that you couldn't even recognize it was an 80 from a distance.

I was in market before changing OIL of my vehicle. I have found that there are quite a few filter brands available. Even Toyota filters (so called original) had a few qualities/types.

My question is "Is there any chance that we could check and verify if parts are original Toyota or fake?

boxes are printed in cheecho ki malyan and afghan transit smugglers are sourcing new & scrapped canabilised parts from Timbaktu to Okinawa.

Update

Yesterday morning I noticed a few red oil drops on floor. Without any doubt its transmission oil as its red. I looked under the vehicle and found two plastic pipes are in very bad condition and one of them was broken.

Without wasting any moment I went to mechanic and asked him to get new best available pipes. Flexible hard walled pipes (Made in italy) were looking good and I hope they will last long. Whole job took only 20 mins. Cost was Rs. 240 for 3 feet pipe, Rs. 20 for two clips and Rs. 300 labour.

Moral of the story. Now my long distance journey will include rubber pipes of different sizes & diameters and clips along with other recovery kit and oils.

Suggestion needed

I want to have performance rear springs with extra 200kg support at standard height for luggage etc.

locate unimog springs from Pindi and swap as bolt on
