How often does the differentials oil should be changed and the interval should be same for a 4x4 and rear wheel drive cars?

Only for weaker pumps, a better idea is to check and adjust the pump internal pressure.

It depends on life of oil. i.e. how many KM and months. normally 50,000 miles, unless your owner’s manual states otherwise. Some manufacturers recommend changing gear oil every 60,000-80,000. Same goes for 1 yr to 2 yrs time.

New finding.

Vehicle is making sound when shifting R to D or back to R. I have checked with two different mechanics and both of them said rear diff have play. Now I am not sure which diff ratio am i running cuz its never been opened before. Further, I have Diff lock as well. So new mission starts here to find differential ratio and than search for that differential (gucha) with Diff lock.

Thanks for info. However my vehicle have been upgraded to 1kz by some previous owner. Therefore, confirm ratio will only be possible after its minor surgery.

What sort of noise is it? A 10 second video perhaps?
Put the transfer case in neutral, and shift from D to R or other way. If you still hear the noise, then it shouldn't be the diff.
Usually the worn out teeth in the differential result in a solid hum, more so when decelerating.
I would recommend to isolate the noise, before putting it under the knife.

Honestly i do not know. But two different mechanic said its Diff play.

I did chk like the way adeel have mentioned. It gives "TAAK" sound. Sometimes even on breaks or leaving race it gives that sound.

Gr8 news. Prado Doctor just mentioned that there is no need to change Differential as this TAAK will be fixed. Secondly my Diff ratio is 8-39.

Yesterday I collected my vehicle after office. Mechanic was confident that TAAK sound have gone cuz he had fixed rear DIFF himself. However, due to road construction, rush hrs and a fight on road I couldn't give it a try. Therefore, I had to drive slow around workshop.

However, when I reached home after 10km drive touching max 60km per hrs, I heard same TAAK sound. Now I need to visit the workshop again on Sunday. This time I will be present full time on their heads and so I will get everything checked

1. Shaft
2. rear wheel bearing
3. transfer case & transmission mounting

Moral of the story: Aap na maroo tee Jannat nai labdi.

I'm assuming the TAAK is now resolved since you took your vehicle here?

Yes it is CarFest GTG

Taak have been resolved at rear end (Rear Diff/gucha).

Vehicle is running fine and it was fine even before. However, I wanted to have vehicle free of every noice etc therefore i went to mechanic.

Now I have asked mechanic who told me to drive vehicle with peace of mind. as it wont effect any thing. Further, mechanic told me that he will open its 4x4 gear (whole speed gear will come down for that) and change its bearing and adjust play in 4x4 gear. Than vehicle will be free from every TAAK TUUK. Insha'Allah

Labour will be 8k and parts replacement will be extra cost. I assume 20k ka bill bana hi dien gain ye duniya waley.

Hence, I took a chill pill for sometime.
