I have 93' Hyundai Excel with a non vtec D15B. The problem im facing is that when I turn on the headlights or the fan (not AC, just fan) the engine takes up a huge load and it becomes extremely underpowered. I have installed projector fog lamps that are connected with parking lights and when I turn them on engine doesnt take any load. Im guessing its an alternator issue but problem is that all the electricians say different things and can't diagnose this issue.
It also has a bad distributor but i dont think that would be the issue. One electrician said it has do with the main wiring but that seems like a headache to fix. Should I get the ecu checked for any issues or get a new (or better) alternator if that can fix this. It has a new dry battery so battery isnt the issue.
Its extremely annoying to see a powerful engine take load with just headlights. Headlights are halogen btw nothing heavy
