Local Wagon R engine knock sound on cold start up

Upon starting the engine in cold weather I can heard a loud knocking sound kind of like a rod knock but it completely goes away after engine reaches operating temperature.
Has anyone else faced the same issue?
Oil change is regular at 5000km using shell hx7 5w30. Car mileage is 120k km.
There is no smoke or oil consumption neither excessive blow by. One thing that I noticed is that this sound happened after the oil got a little over filled like 1-2 cm above the upper oil mark of the dipstick after which I drained some to get it back to normal level.
Any suggestion on how to confirm the source of the knock?
Also now I get the oil filled to 2.8 litres not 3 since then it goes above the upper mark on dipstick but I'm not sure if it matters that much.

Shell HX7 good oil but it is Semi Synthetic Oil. Recommended Engine oil for K10B is 0W20 and 5W30 fully synthetic. Knocking can be due to starvation of engine oil on cold start but experts here can guide better.

Use fully synthetic 5W30/0W20 engine oil and genuine engine oil filter. Your OCI of 5000KM is perfect.

This seems to be a tappet guide noise. Common problem in Suzuki.

Yes I think it might be some noise from the valve train since it disappears completely when engine gets warm.
If it's a common problem in Suzuki then I guess I'll have to live with it

Try changing the fuel filter.

Why would I need to change the fuel filter?

A clogged filter can cause that problem

But that would also have other symptoms like feul starvation, loss of fuel economy etc. There are no such symptoms so far, wouldn't you agree?
Also The ticking noise is not from injectors as I have detached them on running eninge to see if sound difference is there.

Engine is behaving normal, no power loss nor jerking nor any missing.

When cold the oil is less viscous but when the engine is a little warmed up the oil flows better therefore lubrication at the valve train is efficient....it is some kind of oil starvation problem at the valve train....could be costly if the lubrication isn't efficient at the valve train.

one rule of thumb. on a running engine. if you remove plug wire or injector connection. that cylinder should produce vibration very prominetly. if you did not observe this, then that cylinder is not working properly.

I guess Cylinders are working normal since the engine almost stalls when I remove one of injector connectors

I think starvation would cause the noise consistently, also there is no visible sludge/grime under the tappet cover, it is almost as clean as a new engine. Maybe the valve clearance needs adjustment but I'm not sure I'll have to check in the manual. Oil is 5w30 which flows freely even at low Temps.
Do you know if this engine has mechanical or hydraulic lifters?

Well that rules out oil starvation at low temps...then it could just be valve clearance.

if your car has faulty haudralic lifter.then chances of tik tik sound is higher. you can use lifter cleaner in this regard.

There is no such need to try any alternate Oils or oil filters as that will not make any change. this problem even occurs when using Suzuki's recommended Genuine Oil & Filters. Just live with it, unless its not making trouble. The noise must be for the time being at the cold start and should go away as soon as the oil flows up.
