Okay so I recently purchased Toyota Corolla 1.6 2017 FL. As officially provided by Toyota the shitty alpine head-unit seems pretty much useless to me and has 0 genuine useful functionality other then the "iPod" feature which allows me to charge my iPhone and listen to music at the same time but still isn't as good as CarPlay. Googled on how to get CarPlay and i got 2 options. Purchasing 3rd party head-unit that has built-in CarPlay which is minimum $350 overseas, and bringing that to Pakistan would definitely cost more so thats just off the table. Second method is purchasing a android head-unit and plugging a dongle that is widely available on Aliexpress which is pretty much plug and play. However, recently I found out these dongles have a WinCE variant as-well. and well the Alpine head-unit that comes with WinCE. So, wondering if anyone has tried using the dongle straightaway on the built-in Alpine headunit that Toyota provides?
