This thread has 160+ replies, not counting the one I just deleted. It is solely because of the difference of opinion. Rather than shoving everything under the carpet, it is quite healthy to discuss such issues as long as we behave like humans and respect the right of others to express their views, whether we agree with them or not.

OP has posted using Pathans this and Pathans that and none of the moderators took notice of that. To me, you people are spreading more hatred against Pathans.

it looks like what ever the OP has posted infact never happened. he just expressed his hatered for pathans in a story form. if this was to happen, this could have happened with him anywhere, not only Shoba or Peshawar or any dishonest man could have done this to him, not only a Pathan....

I am posting this thread as a warning for all non-pushto speaking guys who want to get their vehicles repaired at Shoba bazar Peshawar.
I went to Peshawar yesterday as my father had some official work there. On motorway my car (Suzuki Khyber) was not accelerating smoothly so after dropping my dad at an office in Peshawar, I started searching for some tuning workshop. A taxi driver suggested me to go to Shoba Bazar Peshawar and told me that it is a big bazar having lot of workshops.
I went to Shoba bazar. There is a ticket of 20 Rs entering Shoba Bazar as if it is some kind of a circus. There was mechanic there with 4,5 junior mechanics. I told him the problem. He cleaned the plugs with sandpaper and installed them back. Then he tuned the CNG kit by rotating that screw.
He asked me that your car needs this, your cars needs that. I told him that I am coming from Rawalpindi and I don't have money to spend on these things. Only tuning was required, now tell me the money. He said ok wait.
He came after 15 minutes and handed me the bill. It was 3750 Rs.
I said it is not my car's bill. He said no, its yours. When I saw it, it had a long list of parts like engine foundations, gear oil, axle seal, gear lever seal, and many more parts. I said that these parts are not installed in my car. He said we have installed them in your car. I said how on earth is it possible, I kept standing near the bonnet during all this time. You have just cleaned the sparking plugs. I wasn't away even for a second. He called 7,8 other pathans and they all said that we have seen him installing those parts in your car. All of them were speaking pushto with each other and I couldn't understand them.
I said that I don't have money and you have not installed a single part in my car, neither I have asked you to put any part in my car. He said ok if you don't have money then we are going to open up your engine and take our parts back. There was no one to take my side there. I was all alone in dishonest pathans. There was no police man from whom I could seek help.
Then 4 pathans sat in my car and ask me to drive. They said lets go to any ATM. I got out of the car as I knew they are planning to rob me.
In the end I gave them all the money I had i.e 1000 Rs. I told them that I am a student and I don't have money. They looked into my wallet and seeing it empty, they let me go.

This is because those people were pathan and they themselves were yelling that we are pathans, we have put those parts in your car, we pathans don't lie, we pathans speak truth, we pathan have principles.
Secondly when I have said that Pathans are like this, pathans are like that?? Why are you lying?

Then why in my posts I clearly mentioned that all pathans are not bad and some of my friends are pathans and they are like brothers to me.

OP shared an incident and alleged culprits belong to a certain ethnicity. Mentioning it was a very important fact since many PW members happen to visit this market for parts. Knowing what happened to one of the members can help them decide whether a visit is worth the risk.

I am sorry that you feel this way but we try to be objective and fair minded. This thread has exposed a very sensitive issue which has become a part of our daily lives. Rather than blaming others and calling them liars, it would be more appropriate to acknowledge that such incidents do happen and we should try to educate others how to deal with them.

i agree it is real story,not fabricated & wrangler is right because truly speaking people from pindi as well as from khi ,wat r u sayiong 24 years old boy even 50 years old person never operate or touch or even see personally any kind of weapon( while we have to accept the culture there in NWFP) that they claim "aslaha to hamara mard ka zewar hay( means arm is the jewel of men) so outsiders dont want to fight or argue with them bcoz people there r used to to "arms", they take out arms only for Rs. 5 ( making it pride for themselves)it is culture there

i saw several times in minibuses in khi, even in race of 2 mini bus, sometime they become emotional & do firing as a joke bcoz it is normal for them but for karachites it is strange (& even there is some mystery that we all have to accept that even police dont wanna go some areas & they call it "ilaqa geer" in pukhtoon belt( even nato & us forces r concious for this,u know)
how sad it is that in whole pakistan, we can do politics easily but "ilaqa ger" dont wanna listen moderate views,they dont allow political events there

in the last i wanna say be cool & think that what happened to innocent boy, people who offering him to again take him to same place. it is not practical ,everyone knows, it is not possible to gather same people again & will they accept?dont see urself as a hero of panjabi/pushto or indian film heroes,life is more important,not the money

instead they will start fighting. so report such incidents( dont care from what speaking they belong wether pukhtoon or non pukhtoon)

I feel sorry for what happened to the poster. all of my sympathies are with you.

but I learned two main things from this thread

if you go to Shoba 4 the first time, dont go there without aquaintance ( same is the case while visiting a new mechanic all over the country)

dont blame a particular culture/ sect for bad things happening to you,. because if you do, you ll get the same back lash in every thread. no society is completely good or bad.

i am a pathan and i have been living in rawalpindi for my whole age
i came across many embarrassing situations
but i never yelled at someone saying that a punjabi has done this to me or some sindhi or balochi has done this or that

infact you will never hear a pathan saying that i was looted by a punjabi rather he would say that a dishonest person did this to me.why?
may be because all other pakistanis other than pathans are very honest, lolz

we pakistanis have got a very good way to degrade others
