You are trying to mix things to put weight in your argument. First thing first, if you look at the link you posted it specifically mentioned the models of 4 & 6 cylinder engines provided in vehicles between 2008 to 2013 (Not earlier or after ones) and if you dig a little more you'll come to know that mostly problem was found in the Honda Accords.
Secondly what is being offered here (Airs bags etc.) is irrelevant to the topic. And I'm sure you know that engines of these cars are not being produced locally but they are being assembled here ( They are imported from Thailand i guess)
As for my own vehicles, again your observations are based on assumptions while I'm stating I am actually seeing with my own eyes. As per the article you posted 1 quart every 1000 miles (1600 km) is considered to be normal. While my car has run 4800 km as of today on the current oil, the oil level is same (While as per "normal" burning my car should have had reduced between two to three quartz of oil). My reference for checking oil level is that I fill my car exactly to the top of 2nd dot and it is still on the same spot.
