Low rpm on AC... problem

hi boys,

i have a 06 lancer. just brought it today. its total petrol
the problem i am facing is tht

1) in ideal, the rpm is about 900-1000. and the car feels perfect. but as soon as u switch on the ac, the rpm falls down to 400-500 and the car vibrates or jitters alot. any idea wat could be the problem?

2) the ride is perfectly fine and quiet with 0 noise. but on contineous bumpy roads, i hear a loud "thump" or more like "gruuukkkkk" from the front . do u think my shockers are weak ? or could it be some rubber bushings?

As far as the A/C is concerned do get the idle up kit checked coz instead of enhancing the RPM's when A/C is switched on its dropping them,so it needs adjustment,and secondly get the complete front and rear suspension checked as you have bought this car being a used one so you don't know what were pros and cons of this car with the previous owner so a complete checkup will give you a clear picture enabling you to proceed further.

well i have seen in many cars tht the idel drops when ac is switched on... its like a sudden drop but does get back to position in a sec

but in my car, the rpm drops and remains there....

and for the suspension, i dont think there is anyone who can clearly tell me which part is weak and needs replacments.... its all trial and error for which i dont have so much money

Don't waste your time with experienced mechanics there are number of good mechanic to save your time,money and your car.Go to them after all its a Lancer not a Suzuki, whose experts can be seen even on cycle repair shops.

The idle issue is going to be due to your IAC valve which maintains your idle RPM. I can only assume is clogged up due to carbon built up. It is located towards the throttle body and once you give it a good cleaning it should go back to normal.

The second issue sounds like one of the front strut mounts or the strut itself is broken. Way to verify this is to repeatedly push the front of the car down and if it keeps recoiling back at a fast pace that indicates a busted strut (also called a shock absorber in this neck of the world). Another way of verifying a blown strut is by jacking up the front of the vehicle up and check to see if there is any oily residue in and around the strut/ spindle of the front tires.

ok my problem solved....

the trottle body needed cleaning...
and the ball joint was loose..

It wasn't the throttle body that did it, it was cleaning the IAC (aka idle control valve) that did it.
