Lubricant Discussion- Engine Oil / Gear Oil

Aoa everyone. I have a corolla gli 2010. Which i purchased used in very good condition. I didn't know which engine oil previous owner was using. When i bought the car I started using Kixx pao 5w40. I have no issues whatsoever but i wajt to ask if i can switch to Kixx 5w30.
The other thing is transmission noise. Which can be heard in all gears. Its a whining noise. Like oooonnn. It is less when accelerating but when the car decelerate it comes more like eeeennnnnn. Like in some old cars. Gear oil was changed by me to company specs. How can i make that noise go away.

Seniors please help. Car is driven almost 1,30,000kms.

I bought Honda CIvic X 2018 from a guy who lives in Bahria Town Karachi and he was using the vehicle since past 2.5 years.
As PSO is the only option there, he used PSO's Carient 5W 30 fully synthetic oil for the same tenor.
Car runs quite fine on the same.

Advice is required should i continue to use PSO or should I change the brand?

Any Civic X user who has experienced PSO carient ?

PSO Carient fully synthetic is good oil. You can keep using that.

You can safely use 0W-20 grade in BR-V and new Honda City 1.5 since both have same engines.
Brand doesn't matter. Just stick to recommended grade.

I suggest instead of wasting money on premium imported engine oils, you can use OEM Honda 0W-20 oil. It's manufactured by idemitsu factory in Pakistan hence you will get it at much less price. Idemitsu is a Japanese company, and they have good reputation around the globe.

if you're going to drain in between 7.5-10k kms, amsoil XL 0w20 is better option, with genuine filter

how much oil is in the gearbox? - was it filled with car on ramps or was it filled with car level? If it was filled with front on ramps, the oil is severely low. - You also are only supposed to use API GL4 spec 75w90 gear oil in it.

and dont use heavy engine oils - just buy the cheapest 5W30 and it will be great for your engine, make sure the PCV valve is clean and its attached hose is good, the engine warms up within 2 to 4 minutes of startup and it will work perfectly.

Sir gear oil was changed recently kixx API GL4 75w90. 2.5Litres and it was filled from pipe using Keef while the car was totally firm on the ground. The porblem was there before too. As i bought this car used. 66000 on the ODo. Im pretty sure the meter was reversed. But till now i have changed gear oil twice. And now the ODO is 125000.
Secondly i have also used Liqui moly gear additive just to give it a try that it might reduce the sound but nothing changed. I used 2.5 tubes or liqui moly gear additive in it.
It comes whenever car declarates. It's like old cars gear sound. Wining.

For the oil part car's engine is really in good nik. Since 66000 i have been using kixx 5w40 as i didn't know th correct oil grade for this engine. Will surely opt for 5w30 from next oil change.

One more issue I'm facing from 3-4 days is that when for e.g im in 2nd gear and crossing a spead breaker and when i again pull the car in 2nd gear it starts to knock from 1000rpm to approx 1200 rpm. Then it goes away. I don't know if its the bad quality fuel these days or something else. (i have got its MAP and vvti solenoid cleaned today) but no difference.

One more thing if car is on ramp and filled with 2.5litres gear oil why would that be an issue? Like the quantity is 2.5litres which should be kept complete 2.5litres wether on a ramp or straight surface. (my car wasn't filled on ramp but it was filled on straight surface) i was just wondering

If the car is tilted while the gear oil is filled, the oil level will be low because the fill port becomes lower than designed. Just like when you tilt a glass filled with water the level changes when comparing the tilt down side against opposite side.

If you are experiencing gear noise then you have a severe problem in the gearbox, most probably the previous owner didnt care for its oil or it was mixed with water etc in the past.

The only remedy is to tear it down and replace worn parts or find a replacement gearbox, (both jobs are not low cost)

For spark knock, if you are picking up the car in 2nd gear from 1000 rpm then you need to revise your driving style.

Sir you are probably right about the gear box noise. I think i should use it till the noise becomes more.

For the knocking noise. It wasn't there before 4 5 days. It's kike krrrr krrrr like noise in slow only.
Something else happened too about 2 weeks ago i went for inner axle boots replacement. There was a young guy there who accidentally put the jack under oil pan (chamber) and it started leaking from the side not much but drop after after. The senior mechanic opened it. Cleaned it and reversed the bent surface with hammer slight hammers. Then cleaned it with petrol and installed it back.
I insisted him to change oil filter and oil too. Can this be of any issue related to knocking or can it cause any future problem? The bent surface was 99% reversed.
Whereas the performance is concerned car is very smooth and is giving me 16.7km/l without AC in lahore city with regular fuel.

Update: 2 of the plugs were totally gone just got checked. Replaced all with new genuine denso ones. Problem is gone.
But really want to know about the oil pan one.

I face knocking/misfiring when I lug the car or try picking in lower rpm when car is under load e.g Ac and 4 passengers. Sometimes it does this but other times it never knocks at all mostly knock free when car is cold

or
pso carient 5w30 with fully synthetic
