Salam guys. I had my cg 125's engine rebuilt around 2700 kms ago (at around 54,930 kms). Right after the rebuild I poured in Havoline 20w-40 for the next two oil changes at 500 kms intervals respectively and also used the same 20w-40 from 56000 kms to 57000 kms. At 57000 kms, I couldn't get the 20w-40 and since the temprature was getting pretty hot, 35C+, I decided to used Havoline 20w-50 4T (Grey bottle). Now I am at 57780 and due for an oil change soon at 58k. With 20w-50 I have noticed that the bike is a bit sluggish and less responsive. Also, since it is a fairly new engine, I haven't pulled it to top speed and have ridden it decently with maybe 2-3 full throttle pulls.
I have two questions. Firstly, can I use a fully synthetic engine oil like the ZIC M9 10w-40 in my bike right now and during the whole of summers or should I just stick to Havoline 20w-40? Secondly, if anyone is using the M9 in their bike, what are the oil change intervals like? Because, while using the Havoline oils I have been regularly changing oil at about 900-950 kms. Does an oil like the ZIC M9 have longer change intervals?
