Haha I'm sure it would annoy me too. Driving a traditional manual is way less annoying, much more durable and easy to maintain. But it seems like the AGS box might have been designed like this. i.e. you're letting go of the throttle like you would in a manual car, but you have the passenger's leg in your footwell doing the clutch for you.
I enjoy a good, solid torque converter transmission. Even when they're old they feel hefty. I drove a W212 for some time, and that MCT had some lovely shifts, but thinking about maintenance or potential repairs definitely dampened my enjoyment.
I think the BAC Mono has a sequential manual along with a clutch pedal. So shifting up means clutch in, paddle up, clutch out. Downshifting may even be more interesting.
