Altis 1.6 first service at 5000km.Which oil you guys recommend any better than toyota taglon?I am looking to improve fuel economy and engine protection?Suggest 2 3 options.

You need to pour 4.2L oil when you change oil with oil filter at 5000kms. Please go to toyota and get taglonX 5w30 semi synthetic which is launched recently.

Oil filter costs 3000rs at stealership and same oil filter will cost you 1000rs from partscentral.

I probably read in one of your posts that you're using Mobil 5w-50 oil. Is it so ?

Yes I used it for like 35k kms.
I drained each oil at 10,000kms.
I switched because people here said 5w30 is good. Well I felt no issues on 5w50. Fuel economy on 5w50 and total 5w30 is more or less the same. Slightly better on 5w30. Engine feels much lighter on total 5w30 instead of mobil 1 5w50. Its a value for money as well as compared to all big brands available in market. I even used amsoil signature series 5w30 and switched back to total again. Amsoil gave severe coldstarts grinding noise in my engine. Everything is better on total 5w30.

To some extent I agree, but I won't call it a scam. As the fuel economy and smooth acceleration of engine that amsoil gives cannot be compared. Oil mantained its dynamics all the way upto 10,000kms with bosch high mileage oil filter, but as far value for money is concerned total 5w30 beats all high brands available in market. It's just too good in this price bracket.
Amsoil 5w30 costed me 8600 for 3.75 and 940ml. Drain intervals 10000kms
Total 5w30 costed me 4600 for 5L.
Oil filter of bosch costed me 1200rs.

How is the Bosch oil filter compared to the OEM? Also, where do you buy it from?

The air filter i'm using is asakashi japan. It costs like 1400 and lasts the same as oem filter.

If you're asking about total 5w30 then it is 100% packed and imported from singapore.
It got origina ilgsac5 and api sn certification. Most big brands don't have original certifications. That includes amsoil and mobil 1 in Pakistan. They are equivalent to certifications as they say, but they are not certified.

Right. So following the lead of many Pakwheels, I'll also be switching from ZIC X7 0w-30 to Total Quartz 9000 5w-30 in next oil change, despite having Company Operated HTL Express Centre within 500m from my home. Vehicle is Altis 1.8 CVTi (17 k driven)

If you're not facing any issues then keep on using the oil you're using. Authenticity of oil matters more then the oil brand itself.

Vehicle has just completed warranty period. It was maintained on Taglon 5w-50 during warranty period. This is first oil change. Lets see how it goes.
