You suggest 5w40 for all year use? or it should be different in winter and summer. Also with the age of engine viscosity and weight number should be increased like 5W30 to 10W40?

Not recommended around the globe.
Minimum recommendation for 1.3 2nzfe engine is 5w30 or 10w30. It's an old engine. 0w20 will ruin it for sure.

Liqui Moly & Mobil are famous and top brands. I ve used both of them in Altis 13 & civic 11.
I will recommend Mobil. Too much better than others.

As per Manual, 5w30, 10w30, 15w40 & 20w50 can be used, depending upon usage habit. Photos are attached for reference. They have mentioned to use higher viscosity oil if vehicle operated at high speed or under extreme load conditions.

such tables are for reference in every vehicle user manual. the oil grade shall be used as per your local conditions i.e outside ambient temperature specific to be precise thank you for sharing @afaisalkk

Agreed, I personally stick with OEM mentioned grades keeping ambient temperature in mind. But why Toyota use 20w50 where 10w30 option is available with them? Not every one used Corolla as Khota Corolla. .

am using 10W-30 in a 130,000 odo reading daily mule in Karachi from May to Oct i use 10w-40
a german 6 cylinder in Islamabad am using 5W-30 from shell helix year round.

a family 2017 corolla after 1st oil change is poured with 10w-30 and service sheet mentions Oil supplied by owner.

it is matter of how you interpret the table.
