Sir don't know the exact prices. But they won't be expensive.

vic filters are good too, using them on our honda city. equivalent to oem, price is abit lesser (though more expensive than guard etc)

I am using liqui moly fully synthetic 5w40 for my swift since 5k odo. Change interval is 8k.

SGO is not enough for wagonR and swift

I have used ZIC A+ and Petromin oils(5w-30) and they both are equally good. So go for any of them.

Order ZIC from their website to avoid fakes.

I have also short listed Zic A+ and Total Quartz 9000 for now. Will check further on both oils. I was actually avoiding A+ because of less viscosity at runing temperature.

So which oil for PKDM Wagon R? The booklet with car says 10W40, but people are saying that actual manual suggests 0W20 for K10B engine. Kis manain bhai?

Keeping SGO away, which grade should I go for, 10W40 or 0W20??

PS: manual says 5-30 or 0-20.. but thats not suitable for our very hot climate in summers.. synthetic grading is bit different as their COV is different from organic oil. ie synthetic are much thinner, organic are thick and viscous..

using synthetic has many advantages.. google them or search here at PW. . thats why cost is a bit high, but compared to 3-4k km for organics, synthetics last 5-6k km, and liquimoly can last upto 8k km.. thus price is justfied.

Donot use SGO.. preferably semi synthetic 5-30 or even better fully synthetic 5-40 is better option..

Kixx, Shell, Zic +/// all are good.. you will feel a noticeable chagne in drive. my experience with 2 cars is just that.. others can tell their own..

just got SGO replaced with Kixx 5W40 synthetic as it has better base grade than 10-40- and 5-30.
car feels more friction free and engine noise is barely audible when its on.
my other option was shell 5-40, but got convinced on kixx to give it a try.. its very little bit more expensive than shell,..which is almost 40% more expensive than SGO efficient..

my progress has been, SGO 10-40 new car, to 5-30 Efficient SGO, at 5000km, to kixx 5-40 at 10k km.... so far 5-40 feels the smoothest.

also this time got ol filter from nippon japan, as filter house doesnot stock genuine suzuki parts..it cost 450..more than SGP.. air filter was 350 i think.

After some research, i am planning to go for Kixx 5W30. As regards 10W40, I have been using that in my Lancer which had clocked over 150k Kms on the ODO, so not convinced that I should the same thick oil in a 2014 Wagon R that has 70k on ODO.

if your car is 70k km run already, then you should use 10-30 or 10-40W.. 0-30 would not be suitable.. after 50k, car should be on slightly more viscosity than a brand new engine..

Semi synthetic oils are cheaper than fully synthetic as they are a mixture of synthetic and mineral oil. Engines requiring semi synthetic oil must use at least semi synthetic oil (not mineral oil) but may benefit from upgrading to fully synthetic oil for increased protection and performance.

I am using Zic A+ in Cultus 2009 and used to change oil after 3k. as per above discussion I can change it after 5k? its safe for engine? and how many months it may last?it takes 6+ months to reach 5k milage..

it is quit safe at 5K We generally give A+ mileage of 5K

since its a very old car now, almost 8years old, you should not skip oil beyond 5k km.. that is the max limit..

recommended oil for it should be 20-50W, so it should only be used not more than 3.5 to 4000 km..
