Best engine oil would be 5w30 in full synthetic. PSO Carient, Calex Havoline, Shell Helix HX7 and etc. As for gear oil, if you want the best of the best then a good 75w85 GL5 gear oil would do you good.

Any decent fully synthetic oil is good for minimum 8000km under severe conditions. It’s barely 5000 miles.

Do not waste it by draining at 5000km. Go at least 7k or 8k kilometers.

0w20 to 5w30, all work great. Major brands available locally with authorized presence are Havoline/Caltex, Shell, Total.

Can go for official imported Mobil1 if want to spend extra for premium brand name.

Which brand should I use, Suzuki, ZIC, or any other?

Why are you using that oil in a 660cc car? Switch to 0W20. Good old Caltex havolin is great. Just change it every 5-6k

Hi

yesterday i posted about weird sound from my toyota corolla altis 1.6 1zr fe engines so a lil update here I went to 2 mechanics who said it is because of oil either it is fake oil or it is not suiting engine anymore and need thick oil and advised to get thick oil 1 suggested 20w-50 and one suggest 10w-30 and the final one which i put is 10w-40 from shell, which was suggested by person at shell, now my car gives weird sound on cold start but when engine is hot at running temps it is back to normal with no sound at all

P.S it was a fake oil which caused this

Now that being said what can be cause of sounds at cold start, ? Should I worry abt it or let it be that way? And if anyone from karachi is reading can you suggest me good mechanic if it needs to be fixed

5w30 is preferred for 1.6 engines. 20w50 is an engine killer.

Ustads will tell u to use thick oil like 20w50.Don,t listen to them it will ruin ur engine.Only use 5w30 from any brand u like in both summers and winters.

If engine health is perfect, then 5w-30 fully synthetic only, from any of Shell, Total, Kixx, Caltex / Havoline, or even PSO.

Else if, you can also try 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline.

These both oil grades above will serve fine.

Just ensure that oil is % authentic, and change oil + oil filter after every 5,000 Kms / 06 months, whichever comes 1st.

Liqui Moly, or any other imported, fancy, expensive, and not so good value to money oils may be avoided. Nothing personal against Liqui Moly, but still...
