The answer may not be as easy as you may want to. It isn't really wise to buy anything by brand name. There is no single recommendation either. The many factors on which your choice should depend include:
- The viscosity grade.
- The API specification the oil matches.
Whether synthetic or petroleum. Synthetics don't favour older engines (which have been already driven 30000+ km on petroleum oil).
The price of course.
- The drain interval. Synthetics usually offer extended intervals. If you do much highway (smooth) driving, you may do 10000-16000 km using synthetic on low maintenance engines, provided you use a VERY good filter.
Although I always favour synthetics, I've found out that the popular Suzuki engines don't have very good ring seals, so they burn up nearly all of the synthetic oil in around 8000 km, whereas petroleum-based lube of same viscosity is much more full-bodied, so it lasts even after 10000km.
