I have santro 44 k driven which engine oil should be used in it .presently I am using caltex 20 w 50.because i got some engine work done like new rings new engine valves etc.plz recomend.

Ive recently bought 72k driven city idsi 2007. Previous owner was using shell helix hx5 10w-40 synthetic motor oil. I read synthetic oil isnt good for old engines n ive 7 years old one. Kindly advice i should use which oil n why? Or continue previous

Source is the classification of oil in grades. The “W” in Engine oil grade stands for “winter” and indicates that the oil meets certain viscosity requirements for low temperature. The lower the number before the “W,” the better the oil works in cold weather. The temperature of Karachi is moderate, so why pay more and use 0W-30 if 10W-30 or 20W-50 works??????

If you care normal for your car, change it:
5000 KM/ 6 Months - Which ever comes first.
If you are Very concerned, then change it:
3000 KM/ 4 Months - Which ever comes first.

Even 5k km is a very conservative OCI.
hello dear, i own a Honda City 2007 driven 150,000 kms used to have CNG too but got it removed around 5 months back and driven last 10,000 kms on petrol only. Which oil do you recommend me to use.

I have found that AIMOL lubricants has a very vast range for vehicles, Industries and Food grade. AIMOL is no doubt the best choice for all vehicles in Pakistan. Aimol also has approvals from hi end car manufacturers like Mercedes Benz, BMW, AUDI etc.
Guys, I have compiled the viscosities of few engine oils. As u can see, viscosity differ from brand to brand even with the same grade oil. So choose wisely.
E.g. 10W40 or 5W30 of one brand may not be as viscose or thin as another brand with "same" grade.
Also, viscosity of "same" grade oils will differ if one is mineral and other is synthetic.
