My engine was losing oil pressure at operating temperature, so I put together a list of some of the oils available locally with specifications from manufacturer datasheets, sorted by kinematic viscosity at 100°C. Didn't want to go with a super heavy 20W-50 oil, but wanted a slightly thicker oil that eliminated the problem without causing too much wear on cold starts and undue stress to the turbocharger.
You can see how the Valvoline SynPower 5W-30 is actually just about as viscous as the nearest matching SAE grade motorcycle engine oil, while the CNG-rated oils are ridiculously thick, but identical at 100°C to the Liqui-Moly MoS2 oil. The exercise also reassured me a little bit about the fabled Delo Gold HDEO, and shows the wide range of cSt values that can be classified as SAE 40 grade.
