Brother no idea.

They above information was taken from their data sheets, as it was available and written there. If no such info is mentioned in the data sheets of Total, Shell, ZIC, Kixx, etc. then only, some person working with them can guide better.

Total Quartz 9000 Future Series is wonderful!

Caltex / Havoline / Chevron, Shell and ZIC are also Great! (Using ZIC A+ 5w-20 Fully synthetic since past year and fully satisfied).

Personally speaking, I am not a fan of expensive and fancy oils, nor will I go to them, unless / until there are special requirements.

I won Vitz. It has a tiny 1000 cc engine, with oil sump capacity of 2.8L (with oil filter change). If I work on 12,000-25,000 miles / 01 year / 700 hours working philosophy, who is going to give me a new engine after 12,000-25,000 miles / 01 year / 700 hours working?

To me, its best to go for the fully synthetic engine oil, and the cheapest of the best and reputed companies, and drain after OEM recommended drain interval (which is usually 5,000 Kms here in Pakistan, for most of the latest, common vehicles).

And if they were dirty, with sludge / gunk, it might be possible that engine oil was not drained after regular time intervals (irrespective of brand, grade, fully synthetic / mineral, etc.)

I also follow the system of operating the vehicle with economical cost but following specification.

e.g. on old mercedes - the PS oil is undyed dexron 2. - I can choose to go to benz and buy it for 20 dollars, or buy it from shop for 12 dollars or just pour in mercon V / dexron 3 I have lying around - which is perfectly usable too.

after switching from 20w50 petromin I did notice that the car seemed to be lighter and more responsive but the rising cost of the oil is disturbing

Of course, switching from 20w-50 to 10w-40 will definitely make a difference, but there is no "Kamal" of Liqui Moly in it! If you had used ZIC, Caltex, Havoline, Shell, etc. results would have been similar. You switched to somewhat nearer to recommended and right engine oil grade, that's why the difference.

If he had used Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30, or any fully synthetic engine oil from reputed, local brands (Shell, Kixx, etc. even PSO), results would have been different (I am assuming that Shell 20w-50 is mineral based and engine health of your friend's car was good enough. He was misguided by the mechanic).
