Main headlight and fog light bulbs for vigo champ

Salam All,

I will be getting a new vigo champ in the coming month and want to change the headlight bulb from the factory ones to something brighter and with a bright white/bluish tint, rather than the yellowish one. Could you guys recommend what kind of bulbs go into the Vigo headlight.

Also, as the vehicle doesn't come with fog lights, I want to get a good quality one installed. The market seems to be stocking DLAA ones, but is there a better quality than those. Also, I am guessing the bulbs that come with these after-market fog lamps isn't of good quality, so what should bulb should I replace it with, also with the white/blue tint so the headlight and fog lights match. Looks odd on some cars how headlamp and fog light colors don't match.

For fog lights get OEM (TOYOTA) but heavy on pocket or you may install DEPO fog lamps little costly than cheap DLAA (but they are near to OEM as per my experience for corolla).Now the lights part better to stay with stock bulbs but if you have made mind for bluish tone,get original PHILIPS BLUE VISION 90/100 W (H4 for headlights(confirm),H11 for fog lamps(guess)).

I didn't know that OEM were available as the vigo champ does not come installed with any from the factory anymore. Is that a dealer add-on accessory? Thanks for letting me know about the bulbs, but where would I find these bulbs? Any store in DHA that you know?

when selecting a colour for lamps - remember that you are engineering by nature aka Allah taala to see best in "sunlight" - sunlight is not blue, pink, purple or technodance rave.

to the human eye it gives a creme color tone which is more yellowish - that is why babies pick up yellow colour first.

using blue lamps would result in losing vision of blue objects in the view - yes it happens...

btw - do you actually have the use of fog lamps? or are you choosing because they look cool?

You do realize how there are barely any street lights in one of the largest cities in the word, that is Karachi, so OBVIOUSLY I need fog lights and that too with good quality/W bulbs to SEE while driving in the evening and reduce my risk of being BLINDED by on-coming traffic that also drives with high beams. I am also thinking of putting an LED bar on the top, and that too is not to look COOL, but to lighten up my vision. Also, what made you think I will be turning on fog lamps during the day for you to mention sunlight haha..funny. Also, for your information, I am not silly enough to do things, just for the cool factor, and not sure if you know this, but almost all vehicles and trucks such as the vigo/hilux around the world comes with factory fog lights. Nearly all cars I have owned had fog lamps - the one I have now has rear fog lamp too. I know what they are. I have only used fog lamps less than 5% of the time of my whole driving life.

The reason to mention sunlight is that the human eye sees best in sunlight - so to have best vision at night - your light source should mimic the colours of sunlight, using blue hue in your lights will cause you to see "less" Its how you as a human are built.

thanks for the explanation but i am not going to use the "fog lamp" housing to put a bulb that can project light only 10ft, will put something brighter/stronger. as for the blue hue, i agree, but i don't want a bright blue, but just a slight tint mixed with white, don't like the yellow - it's a personal choice.

the projection of the light cannot be changed by changing the bulb type, the lens on the fog lamp along with the reflector work as a team to provide the light pattern. If you want to use them as headlamps then you would need to make the housing reflector and lens by hand yourself. The original lamps will never project light more than they are originally built to do.

Installing massive power bulbs in them will simply melt the housing and cause the light to be a useless ball.

Yea I have PIAA lights on my other vehicle. I might install another set on the front bumper grill when I get that. That's a good comparison chart.
