Maintaining UPS/car batteries

Terminals of become hot when not tighten properly..........Terminals are loose on poles of battery or ups wire is not properly tight in terminals. check it.

Terminals are tight, I think they became hot due to high Amperes running through the wires.
I changed the charging wire back to old wire, now it starts charging at 13-16A and after it reaches 26V the charging rate drops down to 10A and below. Near cutoff the charging rate is 4-6A.

This setting is slow but I guess it's safe for batteries and UPS, right???

Ok.............. this is very old school kit............very basic kit with minimum controls...............If u wana save your electricity and batteries........then change this kit with IC 105........1000 Rs kit.........500 may bi mechanic charges.

Transformer seems perfect........if u upgrade kit........u will get ur out put volts fixed, low volt adjustment. overload protections.....3 stages charging system..........led lights which will tell u state and percentage of battery..........

Wires are tight in battery terminals quite poorly manner........take ups to mechanic and get soldered the wire after removing insulation , then tight in the terminal........ buy new terminals

Hey @Ishtiaq778 bro, I have noticed my battery after couple of hours of full charge rests at 12.41v while i think it should stay above 12.60 as its new. Any idea what to do or should I discuss with dealer to change or charge the battery?

Also please tell me if this kit (Imran brothers IB4 based on IC105) has auto amps control as battery gets charged, amps get lowered? because i felt following behavior.

1- At night i set amps to 12 amp when battery voltage was 13.71v and still charging (amps wont go more than 12 at that time)

2- today when light resumed after loadshedding ( load was 3 savers only) I noticed amps were 23amp and voltage was 13.23v :o ... so again adjusted amps to 14.5 - 15 amps.

3- after almost 50 minutes, battery voltage was 13.73 and amps were automatically decreased to 8amps.

is 14.5 to 15 amp ok for this battery? (UGS 175)

i m using same battery as nasirjavaid pheonix ugs 175, using home 800, it cutts off at 14.28 then tickle charge start and ends up at 14.30...and the after full chaged i check the pole voltage of battery its giving 13.67 through out till next light gone after 3 or 4 hours while ups is connected. its new battery 3 weeks old. ups set at 15amps.bcaz it has two settings 15 and 20amps only... ... so all these ok sysptems of battery.

Bro my battery is not being charged full. I charged the battery for 18 hours still it was in 13.8 volts and kind of stucked there. It wasnt going above it. I pulled off the UPS terminals and battery voltage began to decrease immediately. Its been 4 days with this problem. I also checked gravity of cells all of them were in green portion of Hydrometer.
What can be the problem?

Ok.....dear, this kit is very old like black and white tv. There are many up gradations has done like black and white tv,to color tv, then Flatron,then lcd and now LED. Like wise ups kits have upgraded alot.........this was most basic kit.........i suggest u to upgrade kit if u wana good control on ur UPS....

This ups kit charges battery w.r.t available wapda volts, when volts are above 220, it will cut of charging very soon while,on low voltage it looses charging amperes, ur battery seems ok.......culprit is ups kit

Oka. By the way i have a pretty stable WAPDA voltage at my home they are never below 238-240 volts. Last time i remember it was 3 months ago when i noticed the voltage were 225. After WAPDA being that stable Do you think still the kit can be at fault?
