Maintaining UPS/car batteries

Now the main issues are.
1. My ups keeps on charging the batteries and batteries never get fully charged.
2.While charging batteries get hot like hell even i cant touch them for more than 3-4 secs.
3.Now a new issue arised today that my ups didnt gave backup of even 5mins. During loadshedding my ups was giving much low voltages at output i.e 60-70 and that also for 2 mins may b.After that ups tripped how ever it charged the battries for all the night long.
4.Now i want to set the charging current,cut off voltage and other parameters so that my battries should not get dat much hot and my ups should stop charging batteries all the time.

Your batteries are expired dear, one or more cell is short.

Ya i saw some fumes evaporating from 2 cells of a battery and also heard some cracking sound.
Istiaq bro how to check life of my other battery as i think one of the battery is in better condition than other.
These batteries last exact 12 months as i purchased this ups just a day before ramzan last year.i purchased ags battries(a bit costly than other brands) as a frnd recommend that these battries will last atleast 2 seasons but i think this ups ruiend the batteries.
Nw plz recomend which batteries to go for. i am thinking of narada but they are much expensive.2ndly if this ups treat narada batteries in the same way as it treats the ags batteries than it will be big DHACHKA for me :-). And if one of my battery is fine than which other wet battery to go for.
last thing istiaq bro plz guide me the best setting of the ups as "ab to ye hasrat hi reh gai hy k meray ups ki batteries b 2 years tak chalain "

Very sad to hear about your battery loss. If one battery is faulty, take it to battery wala, ask him to replace with another working battery of same age, and use it with existing battery.

It is not good to use new battery with 1 year old battery, as it will be damaged soon because of old battery,

Complains in AGS batteries is sky high now a days, the best tested brand is UGS series of PHOENIX.... which is available in UGS, 215, UGS 175, UGS 140, UGS 125.
For your UPS, UGS of 175 is an excellent choice than narada or any other MF battery.

And Best setting for your UPS with UGS 175 is ......Batt Full cut of: 28.40....Battery Low 21V........Charging Amperes 15 Max.....

Never use tap water to level electrolyte, use distilled water only.....AGS battery Tonic is best

Wat is the cost of ugs 175?
Should i go for both new ugs batteries or should give a try to used battery but the problem will be that the condition of the used battery will be not known and we cant trust these battery walas guys .

11 to 11.5 k...........better change both batteries as soon as possible........other wise you will be shocked by WAPDA

What your opinion abt narada batteries .are those batteries not gud for these desi ups?
Its really painfull to topup ur ups with more than 25k every year

with good tuning of ups........... very less need of topping of battery again and again...........so prefer lead acid rather than mf

Ok bro i will purchase insha allah 2 batteries tomorow and then i will tune my ups with your guidance as i am fed up of taking my ups again and again to these ups wala guys n still problem remaims there.if possible kindly take out a lil time tomorow as i will bother u for full tuning of my ups thanx alot for all ur help bro.

I would like to add keh apki hasrat poori ho sakti 2 years battery life ki agar aap start se proper maintain kren. My phoenix xp165 lasted 3 years with shitty kit

Yes I have seen Ishtiaq bro guiding you. He is a pro and he really helped me in choosing and fine tuning my ups kit. I am still learning but try to pass on what I have learnt.
Adjusting a desi ups is not much difficult, if you have passion you will soon learn. We will be happy to help you. A point to remember is that whenever you hear word "Battery" you should recall that wires connecting to it are always DC.

UNI-T are the best meters and their clamp meter is capable of measuring both DC and AC though a bit costly.

Ya thinking to buy uni t 203 clamp meter or a simple uni T multimeter. As i have read on forums dat uni T 203 clamp meter can measure dc current from 40-400 A.plz confirm dat can it measure smaller DC current of like 5 A or 10 A.

Get easy on your tools buy cheapest ones first. Learn to use them and once you get along with how to use them properly then upgrade to newer and better equipments. That way you won't hurt your pocket if you accidentally burn your equipment while testing. Plus you'll be more confident while using pricey equipment.

Yes you heard right. I have unit t 203 and it can measure 0.1 amp too
Better get clamp meter , not multi meter.
