Again a noob question :-p .to check the output voltages i should insert both probes at the back of ups from where i am taking the power from ups?

Thanks nasir bhai.now i will play with it tomorow as rest of all family members are sleeping n i dnt want to disturb them.
Atleast now i am satisfied that my ups is not over charging the batteries ,all the settings are correct jst a lil more changing will make it near to perfect.
Yar app expert people ko kuch esa tareka b nikalna chaheay jis sy ups py fans ki awaz itni change na ho.har season main dimmers change karny party hain

Hai tareeqa bhai jaan.go to electric store, got 2.5 micro farad capacitor,that is used in fans.iske dono terminals pe wire lga k ups k peeche socket mein lga dein.jahan se voltage check krna hein ap ne.ya phir kisi b socket mein,jiska conection ups se hai.Inshallah dimmer b kam kre ga r awaz b nhi aye gi

Jis ke socket se output le rhy hain us se me lgayye capacitor. And be careful its a live wire.

But in my opinion thats really not needed. Since the noise you hear from fans is due to an impure sine wave system. Desi UPS doesn't have high tech components and the output transformer is too made by hand and is not winded properly which cause a bad noisy current.
This problem is sloved by using an imported UPS since they are designed and then assembled on machines with better quality components and hence produce a good Pure Sine wave current. Which doesn't produce any kind of noise in fans at all and also doesn't burn electrical appliances.
You transformer is kind of not a good quality or it has gone weak - core has loosened by the passage of time. It will be a good idea to replace it since by passage of time it will even make the current more noisy and will start burning your electrical appliances like mobile chargers, Modem Adapters etc, get a new one - often called as 'Waleyti Traansfarmar' it will reduce the hiss noise that you hear from your fans motor core.

We changed all our dimmers to thr ones that are made for desert coolers. New dimmer in old casing

Dimmers were phillips branded.

They are working for last 3-4 years.

I use desi dimmers on my purely desi BUT maintained UPS from last 12 years not a single dimmer burnt ever.

N my ups is jst a year old so i think dat transformer will be in perfect condition.dats y was thinking to use that capacitor solution.

No, normal meters can measure them.

Desi as in the cheap dimmers that come with fancy electrical sheets.

You UPS wala is not that good with the transformers than.

Ok plz guide me a lil that which waves system are measured by true rms meters?what i heard is that rms meters can only measure pure sine waves accurately how ever to measure square waves ,modified sine waves or impure sine waves true rms metters are required.
And are such dimmers available in market separatly?

True Root Mean Square DMMs are good with true sine wave systems.
Its not like they can't measure a square wave i-e throwing a Nil reading when connected to such system. Its just they will not be dead accurate and therefore are not recommended to use in square wave system. We can use RMS converters with such DMMs. But This deadly accuracy is not needed in UPS. As Its just a nanna sa munna sa UPS not a high-tech semiconductor circuitry.

Yes, that can be done since you need it to be in series of the UPS output.

Capacitors are always used in parallel. The output socket should also have a ground in one pin. Its better to solder the capacitor with output wires inside the ups.
