Either your 220 volts are not being given to the inverter or if inverters problem not ur voltage then it is charging the battery. And if this is true then your battery will die soon giving less backup and will die quickly. Check from voltmeter about the voltages and amps from clampmeter when idle.

Hi guys, I am here after long time. Have a Phoenix 175 battery running fine since 3 seasons with 3-4 hours backup on 2 fans and 2-4 CFLs. Yesterday I topped up its water level from min to max with AGS battery tonic but forgot to charge it after that. Today I turned off main switch to run a laptop and couple of CFLs so can charge it after its discharged a little but to my surprise it went down beeping in 10 minutes. Tried charging it again and again on 2 fans it went down in 10-15 minutes.
Can someone please guide did it happened because I left it uncharged yesterday after top up? Any solution to this or battery is gone?

Hi nasir javaid. I had asked about your issue from Abid (Lahore guy). He is asking which UPS YOU ARE USING and how old is the UPS ? Or you can call him directly he will properly guide you instead of misleading or stretching the issue or misleading into another non issue.

But upon asking further what could be the possible problem from battery side, he said. When we put acidic water such AGS tonic and DO not charge it. Then no charging causes the water , acidic water to stay at one side or place of each cell. Causing damage. If you had charged it for awhile, bubbles woukd come out and water moves around cell. So he is saying check the cells where water has blackened or any cell particle floating around.

If yes, then cells have been damaged by acidic water which was not needed or not charging caused the already on verge of death cells to die suddenly.

Thanks Dr. Adnan, I am using Desi UPS having 14x14 module and Imran brother's kit. I tune it myself and battery has already passed 3 seasons without single issue. Battery is Phoenix XP175 (120amps)

Also first of all AGS battery tonic is not acidic but plain distilled water. Physically battery seems fine and there is no blackend water or particles floating but I will check it again today in detail.
It sat without charge overnight and I then charged it for long time at 5amps of current, still it dies soon when shifted to UPS.
Should I do a flush and refill new acid after flush? I saw battery people short the battery for couple of seconds and check the cell that produces more bubbles means its bad cell.
Another thing I wanted to ask is that is it good to buy two 60 amps batteries and join them parallel thus making 120amps or should buy single 120amps battery?
does adding two batteries in parallel increase plates affect?

If anyone needs a Abid built UPS in Khi, please feel free to let me know. It's 6 months used 1kv UPS I believe. I was in Lahore moved back to Khi and it's been collecting dust here. I am willing to sell it, hasn't been used since July 2017. The UPS was previously a ordinary UPS after destroying my battery and the UPS dying on me, I had the thing completely redone anew so everything was replaced and it costed me the same as a new UPS. It is noisy because of large fans and got him to set it up to be this way considering the lahore heat.

How many watts is your ups made up of ? 1000 watts ? 4x4 is 600 watts.

And 5 amps will not increase the gravity of battery. Check gravity by hydrometer or charge with high current. Such as 15 amps. Do u have trickle charge system or haven't ?

Its aprox 700 watts system. Don't know if it has trickle charge option but can post the exact kit number and its pics. I bought hydrometer 2-3 times but its bulb kind of ruptures on it own when kept for couple of months so will be going to buy new one and check its cell gravity.
Going to increase current to 15amps now and will take pics which will paste shortly.

I had AGS 175 before. It used to give me 6 hours on 2 fans and 3-5 cfls. My relatives now have the same battery after my recommendation. And they use 1 fan and 1 cfl. And it gives them more than 6 hours. And both batteries run for 2 seasons.

Now i have AGS 200. Its not about the battery quality only but how a UPS or inverter handles it by having a bunch of functions.

Sorry about the specs shared previously were not quite right. The kit is IB-105 from Imran Brothers and the module used is 10+10.
My Phoenix also used to give me 5-6 hours backup on 2 fans and 3-4 cfls initially for 2 seasons, it even gave 4 hours backup in third season also. Something suddenly happened to it after I added distilled water and forgot to charge it afterwards. And as its winter so there was no loadsheding and UPS wasn't shifted to charging mode until I noticed in morning and turned off main switch so to utilize ups and then charge it but then its backup suddenly dropped to 10-15 mins on 2 fans and 2-3 cfls.

Yesterday tested the battery by shorting its terminals for a few seconds and the cell under -ve terminal gave lots of bubbles and its water turned black while other cells were fine.
Means this cell is bad. Is replacing the battery only option? as heard repaired batteries do not last long.

Repaired batteries last 6 months or so with less backup. Better to sell it to kabaariya and buy another one. These days price per kilo is good as well compared to when season starts. I'll show your UPS PICS TO Abid to let u know what functions are not inside your ups.
But new batteries are not as durable as old ones no matter we use same company and same battery. My opinion.

You are right, my friend also purchased a repaired battery and after 6 months it started giving problem. Please also ask Mr. Abid if we use 2 70amps batteries in parallel then they are better than single 140amps battery or not... also I was thinking whether battery plates will become double as amps do by connecting in parallel?

Like two 13 plates batteries will act as 26 plate single battery when connected in parallel? My thoughts

As much as he taught me. Problem is not in using one or two batteries as much as its about your UPS having enough amount of properly tuned functions with right tools (not with cheap clampmeters or voltmeter). Because as two batteries increase the likelyhood of getting damaged in any of their cell by 2 times compared to single battery.
Then its about the UPS to be abke to handle both batteries according to the current of each cell needed in healthy way. Nor over charging or undercharging all which will lead to further damage in less amount of time.

MY AGS 200 gives 8 exact hours backup on 1000 watts ups. Bought last year March 27. 2017. Refilled water like 3-4 times only. Still good. If no loadshedding. Ups doesnt charge it for days. But when charging is needed. It will start charging for a little amount.

Ups can start charging at 25 amps and gradually decreasing slowly as battery fills. Keeping it healthy and quick charging when there is two hours load shedding and 1 hour light scenario all day.
I run 2-3 fans and 5-8 led lights n cfls. I run my water motor on it. Which is 700-800 watts.

Hmmm... yes there is likelyhood of more cells going bad with 2 batteries. I have UNI-T clamp meter so I am sure the current is same what it shows. I tuned the ups to my best knowledge but still waiting for the reply from mr. abid regarding the required functions you mentioned,
My ups also starts charging at high rate and decreasing the amps as battery gets filled.
AGS 200 maybe has 170amps capacity then why start charging at 25amp? what I have learned is that charging current should be 10% of the battery capacity so your ups should charge it at 17amps ideally and then start decreasing current as battery gets charged.
