Can we use AC Water in batteries? in which quantity ?
If we store it in a bottle etc.
Can u post some pictures.

I have been using AC water lol, people don't recommend it but the battery water that shopkeepers are selling are of not good quality either. AC water, even though is distilled but it usually has impurities so if you can somehow filter it well then you are good to go.

Btw people in lahore can get perfect quality distil water and electrolyte at their doorstep, there is company called pyro chemicals. Search pakwheels for it and you will find more info

I guess from hall road, "UNI-T" is good brand... It should look something like this:

You measure the current (amps) by turning the knob to appropriate setting (DC amps) and then you press the lever so that hook opens up, place it around one wire of your ups to battery and it will show you the current flowing through.
For voltage, set the setting to DC volts and using probes (wires that come with it) you touch the positive and negative terminal and read the voltage on display

and hydrometer (sucker as you call it) is hardly 100-200

Since i think you are new, be extra careful when working with electricity, its extremely dangerous and can give you a bad shock.
Even a 12v battery can cause fire if you manage to short the terminals (e.g when opening one terminal, you accidental hit the wrench on second terminal causing a short circuit so always cover the other terminal with some insulator)

Recently my AC service guy had a clamp meter like this with which he checked the current in the AC to see if Gas is low or not. Apparently if gas is low then less current in the AC. Is this reliable info???

And can this meter be used similarly???

1) What to do when electrolyte in batteries is low??? Should we fill it with DISTILLED / DE-IONIZED water or always with Electrolyte???

2) After filling the batteries is it a good practice to shake the batteries to mix the mixture properly and release the bubbles??? Or does this harm the batteries/charging???

According to my limited knowledge current has nothing to do with gas. Why wouldn't he just check it with proper instruments? (pressure gauges) But i may be wrong... if cooling of your AC is fine then its gas is fine too

Clamp meters have been here since a long time lol, i remember when i was a little kid (late 90s) i saw one of these when an electrician came to our house for some repairs. And i used to wonder how can this meter measure the current
The fact that you never saw one because these are used for high power applications.

Never with electrolyte! Use Distil water to top it up, but keep an eye on gravity too. If its too low, either battery is not getting charged properly or you might need to flush with new electrolyte and then charge it.

1. Always Distilled water but I also said If you prepared the electrolyte yourself in start, then gravity at times is not exactly what you aimed for. If it’s less than 1250 then next time you can top up with 1300 gravity electrolyte in-order to balance out your earlier calculations. Once, adjusted then always pour distilled water no matter what happens.
2. No never shake the battery, but we do mix the electrolyte by wooden stick in plastic container before pouring in the battery in-order to avoid high gravity electrolyte from settling down at bottom. Don’t mess with the batteries once filled.

I've seen a Voltmeter+Ampmeter combo devices online, would that be better instead of getting two separate meters???

Also the hydrometer you are referring to is the manual one which has a sucker right??? Jo sab batteries wale use karte hain to check the gravity???

With this load my ups hardly manage to provide 1hr backup.

Dear to set these parameter, u must have DC ampere meter, and AC/DC volmeter. Without having proper electrical measuring instruments, these variables can not be adjusted.

Your UPS load is not more than 200Watts, If Battery is new then u must have backup time more than 6 hours. how old is the battery

BAT FULL : where is batt full variable as this is used to control the cutoff.

Fix Volts: you can adjust the output voltage in UPS line during the load shedding. You need to insert the voltmeter in output line in-order to adjust this. Should e around 260 Volts once Batteries are fully charged and enters into load shedding. Later, once Batteries will discharge then will drop to around 220 Volts.

Amps settings: as the name suggest, you can control the charging rate with this and adjust it in accordance to your Batteries and load shedding routine in your area. You need clamp type amp meter in-order to adjust this.

Main low and overload: don’t disturb this, as you don’t have a test Bed to adjust this, UPS shops have as they got panel with different lights with different loads in-order to adjust this.

1. 10 Amperes should be fine with exide NP185

2. battery full should be 14 Volts and low should e 10.4 Volts.

3. gravity should be 1250 once fully charged.

Dear there is no missing variable in the kit.......only location is changed.............if u r buying new kit only because of missing variable, then dont waste your money........This kit have all the working variables...

Dear Please see below some pics of my New kit.

there were some issues which i want to highlight.

1. Battery is not charging to 14Volt, it stuck on 13 volts Max. I have adjust the Battery low and battery full variable adjustment. but no result. I also increase the charging Amp to 20Amp but i also not effected the Max volt.

Please advise if this issues is due to battery or something else.
