Maintaining UPS/car batteries

I think battery shop guy used good electrolyte that's why battery lasted 2+ summer seasons even deep discharged many time. I will not go for the hassle of getting pyro or some other electrolyte.. What you suggest?

In my opinion, when battery seller prepare electrolyte,It boils at and remain hot almost for 24 hours. Maximum impurities are sedimented in the container, so no need for extra ordinary care except refilling with distilled water.

Edit:: how do u suggest i shoud discharge the battery?

Cheap chinies stuff, not but will do the job with +-0.2,3v.

Lol yeah it is, since i use it just to play around so it works for me

You didn't say how should i discharge my battery (except using the u.p.s on battery until the battery reaches 10.5 volts)

No other way to discharge without UPS. U will get these volts within two hours if u add max. load on ups.

Yara, how can we calculate the power of a UPS (i-e 700 watts or 1000 watts etc) by inspecting its components (transformer, I.C plates etc)

And secondly, how can we calculate what is the total load on UPS(in watts)

seems 500watts, measure the size of transformer, height and width of metallic core

Its a 700 watt setup.
Is there any way people like me (not having as much information as you) can check the capacity of a UPS setup?

Load on UPS :: its a 750 watt setup with an Osaka battery NS175.
Currently

5 energy savers 2 fans (48 inch) and one desktop computer.
I hope all this load is good for UPS.

Battery got to 10.1 volts from 12.8 volts in almost half an hour.

And secondly, as u said i discharged the battery to 10.5 volts and then tried to change that LOW BAT setting variable but nothing happened. Ups didn't trip. I rotatee it to extreme right and left sides but UPS kept in On position nothing changed...

What to do now?

Then I am afraid bro your kit doesn't have this setting working. Same was the case with my previous kit and it used to discharge my battery to 8 v without turning off.. now i have changed the kit and new kit works great. I set 10.2 volts for low batt shutdown.

I found a 22ohm (or 22k don't remember now) resistor was missing from trimpot to ground. your may have same issue. Better switch the kit with new.

@ishtiaq778 bro, just bought Phoenix UGS 175 battery from same dealer from which I bought my XP165 which lasted 2+ years. Hope this will run like previous. Battery price was 12500 but got discount of 500 so bought for 12000. Old battery adjusted for 2300 so final price to pay was 9700.
He told me to keep the battery lying with caps open for couple of hours and after that connect with ups so its sitting with caps open and will connect it at 10pm when light comes after loadshedding. Its gassing now as I can smell when near it.

Please let me know if its a good choice and good price? Thanks.

Nasirjaved rightly said, u have to upgrade the kit to IC 104 or IC 105. You will get extra variable to adjust on the new kit.

Battery choice is good, and price is 1000 high. Any way good luck with new battery.

What is your city??? Just buy the kit and settle the installation chargers with UPS mechanic who has DC ampere meter and DC voltmeter. Get set all the parameters by using good quality instruments. Its hard to adjust it without proper equipment.

I changed my kit to IC 105 and a 10+10 module in 2000 rs both. If you are near muslim town or iqbal town then I can refer you to the ups guy who fitted mine. Purchase everything from hall road and take you ups to him and he will take 600 to fit it +configure it... You still save Rs.1000 as ups guys take 3500 to change kit+module and still you don't know which one they used.

for 10+10 kit there need to be more holes drilled which i think you can't do yourself, else its very easy to wire the kit and module... just use a 200w bulb in series and you can save yourself from burning the kit.
