Thicker battery plates deteriorate slowly as compared to thinner cell plates. Having more lead, these plates hold charge greater than thinner.
Long back up is reciprocal to long battery life.

dear experts i had to buy new battery for my ups. kindly if any one can tell me that from where should i buy 200 or more AH battery in rawalpindi and the price.... uptill now i had narrowed my search on AGS and PHOENIX.
AGS 200 AH battery price varies Rs 17000 to 18500 and
PHOENIX 200 AH battery price from Rs 16000 to 17000

i had purchased new homeage 1202 ups and disposed off my old desi ups.

kindly help.

Previous experience is 2+ years from xp165 with realy shitty desi ups which deep discharged it to 8v many time... want 3+ years...

Phoenix UGS215 is Rs.15000 here in Lahore. You are getting high rates there.

Oka. Actually @talhawaleed suggested to flush the batteries every 6 to 8 months.. Thats why i was asking..

Normally, if you use a good electrolyte right from start and UPS is adjusted properly then you don’t need to flush it very frequently. Normally I do it after every 1.5 to 2 years provided I don’t get wrong indications from battery such as reduce backup time and once I feel, then that is a time, I immediately go for a flush that’s like before a damage is already done to the batteries, you take a corrective action.

With experience and if your have things ready then you can delay things till once it really is needed and then do it without getting lazy or postponing it.

Oka understood v.well. thanx. By the way i tuned my UPS to trip the charge at 14.2 - 14.3 volts. Do you think its oka with that?

14.2 Volts is ok for lead acid batteries.

2 Summer season from a battery is ideal life which can be get from it in current load shedding scenario.

Never let the battery deep discharge. Use distilled water for leveling electrolyte.

Discharge your battery upto 10.5V. Rotate this variable . Where ups shut down. Set this variable at that point.
Use good quality digital meter for doing any kind of setting in ups.

this is the most basic kit, if Transformer is healthy then i ll suggest u to upgrade it with latest kit.

I think battery shop guy used good electrolyte that's why battery lasted 2+ summer seasons even deep discharged many time. I will not go for the hassle of getting pyro or some other electrolyte.. What you suggest?

Sure, its quality is near AGS. Mine xp165 lasted 2+ years even my ups was not good.
