Yesterday I spent the 3-4 hours driving around and the car was starting fine, Then I parked at one place to get something to eat, came back and it refused to start. Quite a hassle as no-one keeps the jumper cables in cars now a days which is very poor habit. So somehow I got the cables from a Petrol pump about 2 km away and started the car. Came back home after driving for 10+ km, parked in garage, it again refused to start on second start.
Surprisingly the battery was perfectly fine for past one year, still had the green colour on top which means it lost it's CCA but was holding the charge for electronics to work. Very dangerous if you are stranded in a remote location where help is hard to come by.
Edit: I have replaced the battery with Phoenix MF 48AH as I trust the brand. I'll update about it's performance in a few months. I have used Daewoo, Hankook, AGS, Exide over the years and so far Phoenix is most reliable and long lasting for me. Sometimes there is an odd one but overall I would avoid Korean brands like Hankook (as it has betrayed me twice in last 5 years, luckily is not available in market anymore).
Also I would advise everyone to keep a set of Jumper Cables in car for situations like this. In my experience one should change car battery after 2 years regardless of its condition.
