you can raise the line pressure of the steering by working on the control valve but then the pump life is measured in hours and not years, A steering too soft (overassist) is very dangerous. You can lose control very easily. Some idiots in Karachi did that on civics as they wanted their steerings to be like the old Accords (insane soft) - but those cars also had speed sensitive control which hardened the steering as the car sped up. The civics dont have that and they eventually killed the pumps or crashed their cars.
A car's steering should be heavy - so the driver knows whats going on.
