Muzzammil's Travels: Trip Report: Cruising through the Great Canyon
@ farooq05: It is indeed a perfect, however a bit stretched, day trip from Karachi. Needs adequate planning for stopovers and fuel while security is manageable imo especially till Ormara. First stretch of the drive is RCD Highway till the zero point which is inhabited, the next major stop is 120km ahead at Hingol River Bridge where there is a hotel for meals and tea (Muzzammil's Travels: Chicken Karahi on Makran Coastal Highway), then Ormara. We did not take any extra fuel for the day trip (till Buzi Pass) although we kept the CNG tank for the emergency reserve. Security can be managed by keeping low profile and wearing shalwar kameez. Btw, Dera Bugti is nearer to Lahore than it is to the Coastal Highway! I aim to write a separate post on the security and other precautions soon inshallah.

Imo, it can be managed with one car if timed properly and taken necessary precautions especially regarding fuel, water, etc.
