Margalla AC Compressor

Hi,
I have Margalla 1996, I bought this car in 1996 zero meter; since then I detached its AC belt and didn't use AC at all. But now I wanted to use its AC as the car is in my use again so I installed the belt and cleaned the AC, but the result is ineffective and AC is not working properly.

My mechanic is advising me to change the compressor, can you guys please suggest me which is the best compressor for Margalla and where should I buy the original working one?

First of all let us know your city?
Also how your ac technician is saying that you need a compressor swap?
First of all take suggestion from multiple ac technicians and take suggestion from here then go for a swap.
I would suggest full ac servicing which includes part to part service.
My suggestion for compressor is to go with Toyota Duet because it is small in size and works like a beast!

Hi Basit,
Yes, I had a complete service of each part, yet it is not functioning like it should be and has a very low cooling status. The mechanic said my compressor is hit by the rust and it remained unused since a good period of time that's why it has lost its efficiency.
Btw, I am from Hyderabad.

Bro if its hit by rust then go for a swap although you can go for compressor overhauling but it is not recommended because we don't have that much competent resources.
Also have you asked your ac technician that he will install margalla's compressor or will go with some other car's compressor?

if the compressor is working than why to change it? you probably need to check for leaks in the system and topup refrigerant gas and u r good to go.

do check the radiator and fan working (both radiator and condensor fans) rest should be ok.

i think, after all these years, the refrigerant quantity will be less than requried to cool properly, check the pressure on gauges and the proceed accordingly.

The boi is saying that he had a complete service so it might be obvious that new gas was filled in system!

The mechanic said that it is not necessary to install Margalla's compressor, instead he will install 505 or Terios compressor. Now I literally have no idea at all the which compressor is best for me, and from where I can buy it in affordable price.

Compressor is working but not efficiently, its like 25% working. That's why he's suggesting me to install the newer one.

Yes, I have checked and serviced condenser and radiator both and they are in best condition.

copressor either works or it doesnt. if the refrigerant level is low than the compressor wont b able to make correct pressure.

anyways if u intend to change the compressor, try and find duet compressor, orignal denso japan rotory compressor. it will cost u around 5-8K and it should work very nicely in your ride.

Salam,i have margalla 96 model too,my technician suggested me to fit minipajero or nd ac compressor?kindly suggest me as i m confused btw these 2
