Can anyone tell me the cost for new windscreen and where should I get genuine and local? what will be the cost of windscreen fixing and from where I should get it fix.

Margala new windscreen is from 2500 to 3500. There are 3 to 4 types of screens are available in market, like local, china and taiwan.

yeah I've checked Plaza, they told me that thay have various varieties, like Chinese - 1800 Rs, Tainwan (TNG Company) - 2500 Rs, Malaysian (MSG) 2800 Rs.
please tell me which one is best?

I'm not very sure. I guess, jitna gurr daalo utna meetha wala case hay. But do ask the guy which is the best screen in terms of scratch resistance and protection from on-coming lights during night-driving. Also, what is the mode in which each breaks down or is shattered. Answers to these questions and your budget should help you decided amongst the options.

yeseterday I bought Laminated Geniune (as shopkeeper was qouting) for 3500 Rs from Amjad Autos (they are really good people in dealing).
Just for information, Laminated won't breakdown instantly.
There is one variety called Tempered which breakdown instanlty but will not hurt passenger, as the peices would be very small.
Chinese one or local one break down instantly and can hurt passengers badly.

Congratulations on the purchase. Thanks a lot for the information mzkhan. Is Laminated Genuine the one which stays in its place even if some part of it is broken? I've had an experience with Tampered and yes small pieces do not hurt the passengers but they may cause bruises when those pieces are rubbed against the skin and they might get stuck in your (and especially ladies' hair).

I hope the windscreen installer did a good job so that the 'gola' doesn't look bad since that can affect badly on the resale of your car.

yeah it is Laminated one which stays intact. (there are various varieties of laminated, like chinese, geniune etc, but I purchased geniune one)

Yeah he has done good job and it doesn't look bad!

just found this thread and think better to continue rather to start a new thread.

Recently, my Margalla Windscreen got cracked and now I am looking for replacement.
From where in Rawalpindi I can buy good one at a reasonable rates and what could be the fitting charges ?
I checked rates from Koh-e-Nur and Waseem Autos and they quoted following rates for laminated one respectively, 3800, 3750.
I asked from a Denter and he quoted 2000 for fitting only (reasonable ?)

Looking for expert opinions.
