If it were to be a weekend car or a secondary car, I would've suggested the 300G Mark X handsdown but if you require a daily driver to college and academy with grocery runs and other house errands, then definitely Civic Turbo is the choice. Features, road presence, and power would be a little less but would be reliable with good fuel economy (especially given the current state of fuel prices) and also is a very powerful car (not as 300G but still). You can tune with boltons for more power if you like to do a bit of spirited driving on the weekend but overall it's a very good car. Regarding the issues, 2016/2017 and after model years as well suffer from steering rack and AC evaporator problems so best to get it checked/inspected by a dealership. Just get a good, 1st/2nd owner maintained example, you will not be disappointed.
