Seems like gearbox problem...get it checked...and also replace auto transmission fluid.

Get throttle body serviced + spark plugs changed + manifold serviced to clear acceleration problem. Get CAT converter checked for any blockage.

Thanks I changed the ATF and it's a lot better however I now have the VSC, traction and engine lights that come on once in a while and the other thing my car has refused to maintain the 8ltr per km range it always at 6km/1 any suggestions

Those lights come on because of a faulty brake light stop switch (it's located under the brake pedal). Get that changed.

To improve the avg, get your throttle body serviced, manifold serviced and the rest as instructed in last reply.

Bro i do have a smart key but all windows goes up and down with only manual key and not with smart key... can u tell how to do them with smart key, though i have pressed and keep hold both lock and un-lock buttons on remote but nothing happened.

This is an excellent repository of expert advice on all types of Mark X servicing issues. I am hoping to get some answers to a few minor issues I am facing.

For the past few weeks, I am seeing the attached screenshot when I try to control the AC from touch screen. The translation is to check AC connection. I can turns the AC on/off but can't change temp or airflow settings. Naturally, the rest of the display screens like mileage, consumption, kms remaining also stop displaying the live info.

Maybe I am superstitious, , but it always happens when the car remains parked outside in sun for a few hours. The screens used to go back to normal after a few hours of driving... But this time the screens remained in this state until I went for a fuel refill. The screens became normal after filling the tank. But went blank after a day.

Someone suggested to have the connections checked behind the display unit but when the screens became normal after topping the fuel tank, I decided it was not necessary... Any advice on what the root cause could be?

Get scanner connected. Maybe it tells more. My hunch is that one of climate control temperature sensors is gone or has a weak connection.

Please suggest is it worth buying a 2005 mark X in 2019? Have these cars gone too old by now? Keeping in mind long distance traveling (Islamabad - Karachi) should I buy one and are they reliable enough to travel such long distance without breaking down and leaving it's owner stranded in the middle of nowhere. ..

Asalam U Alaikum brother I have the same car as yours bought it a month ago but I have some issues driving it since this car of mine Mark X 300g 2006 has not come with VSC or TCS and I belong to Swat KPK and here roads are often wet and slippery.
My point is it is hard to drive without these systems, is there any way to get these systems for my car at a reasonable price My friend has a 2004 model which comes with all those stuff but mine is sadly not hopefully you will help me out.

Bro, I don't think so you can get these systems 'installed' in your vehicle. All you can do is, carefully step on the gas pedal in order to avoid wheel spin.

You need to very careful in order to avoid spin since Mark Xs if its 250 or 300 they are quite powerful cars and they have tendency to fishtail alot . so if it happens just let go gas and gently turn the wheels in the direction of wheels spin or skid . And lastly install some good winter tyres .

@nomicool I am a heavy footed sorta guy but a guy from Thailand had the same problem and he had 2005 250 g and all he did was ABS module and ECU change or at least this is what he said and it worked for him since his didn't had the systems so is there any way to get ABS module and ECU here in Pakistan tried ali express but didn't find any and.

dont try to install such a system in your car even if you manage to buy it. your two options are either to sell your car and get one with such a system or to learn how to control it. never apply breaks when this happens because this will transfer the weight of the car to the front, the back will lose grip and your car will be out of control. I am sure you can look up videos on youtube. If you drive on snow/ice get winter tires they will help a lot.

Your car is a 300G which is even more powerful. Although many people may not recommend it but i would suggest you find a safe clean place and practice oversteering deliberately. This will help you get better at controlling it and since you are a heavy footed guy you may even enjoy it. But choose a place were there are no pedestrians or a risk of accident.
