Hello, sharing details of my ride,

Pajero Mini 1995, 660cc turbo, manual transmission.

Refueled today.

273KM / 29L = 9.4KM/L

When I bought it about 2.5 years ago, it was at 6KM/L and my goal was to take it to 10. Happy that I got it here, and its pretty stable around this latest average.

Average is good, but this is 4x4 section and you're posting details of a saloon car

Not infact. I was unable to see 4 by 4 badge.. my friend 4.2 VX LC 1994 model. Single owner since import in 2006 has an avg of 9 without turbo and light foot on long route. But it is 7.5 to 8 in city

it took 70L, hence average becomes 7.46 Km/L which is still very good with slightly weak engine.

That is pretty good for a 4.2L engine... Sorry have never kept a diesel car but the average for such a large engine is pretty good.

I have a small 2.0 petrol Suzuki Escudo, I am only able to get 8-8.5km/l in city... maybe this is because it is a AWD. On motorways it does around 11-12km/l.

The Pajero gives 5km/l whereas the hilux gives 10 !

About the low average on highway what I think is that if one drive below 120km/h the average can be better.
Within city it's better because of the great torque of engine and throttle doesn't need to push that much hence maintaining speed between 50-80Km/h is relatively easily.
On highway as the body is much larger and not so aerodynamic causing more wind resistance at 120km/h.
On your next trip try to drive between 80-100km/h which might give you better results.
Again driving that slow on highway is also too much boring.
