Maruti launches premium sedan 'SX4'

NEW DELHI: The largest carmaker Maruti Udyog Ltd on Monday launched its premium sedan 'SX4' priced between Rs 6.18 lakh-6.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has launched two variants of the car and it would provide additional features on the top-en d variant, which would be priced at Rs 7.24 lakh.

The car would compete with popular models including Honda City and Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta.

"The company has already dispatched 1,500 units of the new car and would send out another lot of 500 units tomorrow," Mr Jagdish Khattar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, MUL said here. He said with the dispatch of second lot SX4 would be present across the country.

Speaking on the company's profit margins, Mr Khattar said: "We are not bothered about margins but about the quality." - PTI

At 6.18 lacs with a/c and 7.24 lacs fully loaded??.C'mon. i'd forgive it's looks.And if i'm Injun, i'd be driving the same SX4 the Amrikans are drivin'!!.The Injuns sayin' they 'got game' in India too!....

Personally from the link u have provided n also 360 view this car doesnt inspire me at all, The only thing i like in it is The Steering Wheel its bit better thn Old Suzukis

About the '4'!.I have no clue!.'4' cylinder maybe?.lol!.The car doesn't inspire me either.But i'm always exited about a new car release, even if it's a Chevy Malibu, and the new Malibu does look promising!!.Same goesfor the SX4 too.I'm gonna take pics at a showroom in a day or two and post.Maybe the car will look better in person!!.The main factor is the price and the fact that 'current' Suzuki models are being released in India now unlike before, when 'hand me downs' were the norm!.

I'm beginning to 'warm' up to this car!.Espied a SX4 and then a Logan on the roads in Madras today and the Logan looked too 'plain jane' to me.I'm waiting for a test drive and hopefully will take pics soon!.....

the 'ZXi' model looks good with side skirts etc......costs INR 7.86 lac in Madras with tax/title/registration.....

The interior of this car looks cool in person too!.I didn't like the quality of the plastics used but as far as design goes, very futuristic and comes with an integrated sound system.I will take photos when i take a test drive!!...
