@Skysedan....well the denting work is complete....the interior is all complete with new seats and upholstery....actually we are trying to sort out all the mechanical problems after which we would paint the whole car including its interior and then we'll fit the dashoard and the instrument cluster and the seats etc....

Well parts are not much of a problem since the engine is of a toyota....besides we have all the lights and the grill and stuff..suspension is overhauled with new tyres..Its only about time we put all the parts together and then the car will get into its final shape!!

Thats great... if you have all the body parts, lights, grill and the interior. Coz not many of these cars are found with original lights, most are altered and replaced with Toyota lights.
I had a chance of coming across an Rx-4 in Bilal Ganj a few months back. The car had a 2c engine. Sadly many of the body parts were missing, The owner was asking just 50K for the body shell and engine.

Anyway.. do keep us updated on the project. A person working on an old Mazda must be appriciated for his efforts.

Wat abt the the suspension ? have u altered that for this engine ?

not really....apart from the double duty shocks installed at the back....the suspension is kept pretty much stock....we initally thought of replacing the leaf springs with coils but then decided against it since all of the power will be going to the rear wheels, sturdsy leaf springs would be better able to "bear" the harshness of our roads as well as the thrashing this car is gonna get.....though the ride is quite stiff but we're fine with that as its not being developed as a daily driver

oohhhhh....so you've already seen it....yea it was parked outside for quite sometime before we decided to get elbow-deep into it....I'll post some pics and videos soon....btw thnx for the "motivational pic"

I think its 76-77 929 Coupe !!! one of the best coupe of that time... specilly in red color...

@scab007......Sure thing brother....It's a really interesting thing to take up provided you've got time on your hands....You'll learn alot about the mechanicals of the car and the "local" mechanics ki terminologies So when're you planning your return??

well im coming inshAllah next month for my summer break. .I was thinking like if i could start this project by any chance this summer n then i can eventually end it up within an year or two. . anyways i had been seraching for the base of the car like the chasis and body but couldnt searh any nice ride. .i was wandering what if I buy some datsun 120y coz its more available in lahore and im not sure that i would be able to find any 929? :s where did u buy urz and for how much .?
