This is not something new. This practice is quite old and kit cars of Ferraris, Enzo etc were made. I have seen many such kits rotting away in Dubai Junk yards. They excessively use glass fibre reinforced plastics. These plastics are not recylable and thus is a headache for the authorities to remove them. I was on a committee to recomend ways and means to process used plastic parts mostly from cars and electronic items such as mobile phones, computer etc.
