Meet My Gorgeous 11th Gen Corolla ALTIS 1.6 Facelift

This is what i achieved yesterday after a drive of about 60 kms within City with moderate traffic conditions and mixed driving style Floored it twice and mostly i was driving fast
The avg was around 15 plus but after traffic jam at 2 signals it came down to 13
The avg is really nice with 215/55/R17 Wheels
Since we still have summers here in khi Ac was On most of the time
The avg is as good as with stock wheels hardly any difference
Yes it has improved after crossing 500kms mark

Excellent fuel mileage with AC

Dont forget to reset the meter next time before going on highway
It is giving me above 10 in city these days

I have done that twice on highway when my driver was on the seat i guess he has been accelerating too much.

Theres hardly any difference even in overall feel and drive
Thanks to this old 4 speed AT which kills the potential of dual vvti 1.6ltr engine
Both cars have more or less same drive ..
And we have dicussed it many times before GLi AT is not underpowered at all ! Its perfect for Khi

I think this is now old topic. When gli a/t owners has no problem with its drive than why people keep on saying that. I haven't heard single gli A/T owner saying it sluggish.

Let me tell you, i was planning to upgrade my gli a/t to 1.6 altis but after driving 1.6, i came to the conclusion that its not worth changing, if only comparing drive.

But if you take it as what else you are getting in those 1 lakh extra than you should go for 1.6. Like Rims, DVD player with GPS, leather seats, two extra colours, name of altis and in last 1.6 dual vvti.

I have even tried manual gli which i was expecting to have greater pick as compare to auto but i dont find any difference in it. It's completely my personal opinion. You have right to disagree.

Why would i need some video for that when i have already kept 3 11th Gen Corolla GLi's already including both Auto and manual
Currently my GLi AT is on 215/55/R17 which is a huge wheel size and still i am more than satisfied with the acceleration , as i said previously it is perfect for within City Drive
And it is not sliggish at all
Considering the size weight dimensions and small 1299cc engine and auto transmission it is rather impressive feels better than City AT
And for honest reviews and all the details i think you will find each and every detail about Gli AT here in this thread ..

The pick of manual from Zero is pathetic. It turns to annoying when there are more people on board other than the driver. And if you want more misery, add luggage too. For me I am 100 percent sure that the acceleration from zero of 1.3 manual Gli is horrible. But once up to speeds above 60 the response from the engine, i.e. the engine output, is good. Sometimes I feel like as if it just isn't even moving. Instead of keeping the car in second gear in a normal situation, Corolla 1.3 needs to be put in 1st to get the same acceleration and even that isn't equal.

Although this much acceleration is still more than enough in City where the traffic is barely moving. But still, the slow acceleration just doesn't give the feel of such an expensive car (for an average buyer paying this much money).

But both Gli Manual and Gli Auto , both have average acceleration not bad at all !
This has been comfirmed several times here at pakwheels not just by me but by many other senior members the car is nice and acceleration is not bad at all
I have kept and used all local sedans including 8th Gen Civic 9th gen Civic 1.8 Altis 2011
GLI AT and GLi manual both are nice cars and not underpowered at all ..
I would really appreciate if we start talking about other much needed features and safety features in GLi , acceleration is good enough for daily drive infact good for super highway too , but definitely not for motorway !
IMC must think about Air Bags and power retractable mirrors for such a big car
The car performs much much better than what ppl were saying before the launch ..
Anyways

Haha Sir, most people cannot take criticism and usually tend to avoid.
I get your point of view. Everyone is entitled to keep their view.

Regarding what you want us to discuss: yes, Gli lacks some serious features. That's why I said that for a car worth this much money, it is just not worth it. People are saying that it is the best of the lot and the best value for money. I am not one of those people. Gli now is exactly the same as when it was introduced. The shape keeps changing because they have to change the shape or else you and me won't buy the exact same car over the years. These big three companies are looting us. A simple example is the Cultus limited version. I mean body colored side mirrors lol.

I recently upgraded from Honda City 1.3 Prosmatec which i kept for less than 2 months to another GLi AT
It beats City AT in all aspects
City Auto feels sluggish and less responsive than GLi AT
In City AUTO You really have to floor it and push it to limits to get a decent speed quickly
which is not the case in Gli AT
However when fully floored City is 3 seconds faster than Gli At in 0 to 100 timing

I have discussed it several times before in this thread but will write a few line again for you Dear ..

Looks : Corolla wins here if you compare both in stock condition and if bodykitted and modified , in both cases 11th Gen Corolla beats 9th gen Civic
Paint quality : since i had kept 9th gen Civic for about an year and have latest corolla for more than 15 months now , Corolla's paint quality is better on the metal parts , but plastic parts like door handles have poor quality as compared to both Honda Civic and City
Suspension and Comfort : Corolla wins here for sure
Spaciousness and cabin room : Corolla is roomier and has much better legroom than civic esp at the back
Engine and transmission : Again Grande wins here as it has a really nice engine and butter smooth CVT transmission , although i really love Civic's drive and the 5 speed prosmatec gives a much better feel whenever you floor it
The Interior layout and multiplex meter of Civic takes it into another league , the interior is the best part , 9th gens interior is just too good and better than Corolla for sure
About the materials and quality , both are bad to be honest
Civic is easy to maintain though , thanks to the beige interior , corolla's interior gets dust and dryness too quickly , but the soft padded parts give a better feel than Civic hard plastics every where
Civic's door arm rest have pathetic quality and starts peeling off even if used with care
And the hard top of dash also gets dryness and starts looking somewhat whitish but overall i just Love Civic's Interior , the entire layout and front seats are better than corolla
Corolla's visibility fromt driver seat and windscreen is better but side view is bad , Civic has better visibility for turnings and intersections
Civic's jack knife key is too good
Civic come with immobilizer and def beats corolla here
Civic has dual air bags so again wins here however it is sad that we dont get any airbag in Gli and only 2 airbags in top of the line Civic
Civic's steering wheel with multifuntion control is much better than corolla's steering wheel
Corolla has much better road grip and feel than 9th Civic at high speeds above 120km/hr
Overall i would say if any one is looking for a new car at present he must go for 11th Gen Corolla or wait for 10th Gen Civic

Fuel avg of both 9th civic and Grande is more or less same
