Assalamualikum Brothers. Hope all is well. I wish to share the info regarding all the fuels tested for now in my Axio X 1500cc CVT 2007 test vehicle and 1000rs of HOBC from Total, PSO and Shell.
But First, All Pun Intended / Tafreeh :
Shell is supposed to take out all the junk and gunk so power loss is intended. RON 95 (V Power) < RON 97 (HOBC) ... they never said its Higher Octane
Altron X is already adulterated as per news they were fined and still no use. Full Color Change and Kerosene added
Total never argued and continued same fuels as HOBC and Super. So cant say anything there. What are we expecting, its the same
Adding all this junk will over burn and ping and bling the engine ... dramay baazzy hai sub .... They pulled a "RON" "MON" on us !!
Now the real thing No Pun Intended - Real Stuff :
Axio has tasted Rs.1000 of Altron X and has seen no change in fuel economy nor performance nor engine noise. Same as on Altron Premium or Premium XL. Honestly looks only like marketing and color change. Long route testing not done. (Rs76/- Altron X per liter)
Axio has tasted Rs.1000 of Shell V-Power Unleaded and has seen bad change in fuel economy (-0.5km/l), no performance nor engine noise change. Same as on V Power Normal or Super Unleaded. Honestly looks only like marketing and color change. Long route testing not done. (Rs82/- V Power Unleaded per liter)
Axio has tasted Rs.1000 of Turbo and has seen a change in fuel economy (+0.6km/l), slight performance (feel maybe, placebo affect), engine noise slightly decreased and smoothened. Difference felt on Premium or Normal Total Petrol . Long route testing not done. (Rs81/- HOBC Turbo per liter)
All Fuels were tested and then 500rs of the normal fuel was poured to see difference and a day was skipped for next test. All testing was done on safe roads in Phase 8 DHA Karachi at 7am or so. These are my experiences and max speed touched was 100km/h. All safety was accessed, seat belts on, no punga no drag race only performance check on straight road and economy while getting there. Maybe my car/engine had a different attitude towards the fuels. All testing was done 1 day after the other so that ECU and car got rest as well. 1 day per company sorta ... my advise is HOBC is for now marketing. None the less only time will tell and maybe the real cars that need HOBC can better tell the difference in their 0-60km/h or mileage etc. My experience is as above. Maybe on highway results can vary. Maybe its the engine. Maybe more testing is needed on full tank to full tank. Maybe another car should also be tested. Maybe next year real RON will be upgraded. Cant risk taking this test on the Family Car, the Altis, but will try 1 tank of each in normal cruisey. Peace Out !!
Just a thought : { -- I take no responsibility for this test below -- }
[ Hope someone else does this who has 3 same cars and lots of free time does this ... full tank of normal gas/petrol till 1/4 or "E". Take note of mileage. Refuel on Whatever HOBC of same company. Same as above test. Change to other company next time and repeat above test. ]
