Mehran Euro 2 Petrol Consumption Chart

i bought Mehran Euro 2 on 15 august 2013. since then it has been giving me an average of 14km/l max. then after getting its oil changed i made a chart of its fuel consumption to be accurate and this is the result i got.

Please sort my problem out as i have been getting a response of 16 + average of mehran from other people.

your car is new. you`ll get better avg after 5 to 10000 Km driven. mine giving me 17 to 20 km/L in both city and highways. always tuned your car after 5000 Km from suzuki motors. i always practice this. Oil change timely and check air filters too. drive with very soft pedals and in low RPMs. change gears early. Never Ever accelerate as you are driving sports car. it consumes more fuel and ECO sucks. always check your tire pressure. Try these then post your chart.

it is all about how u drive. first of all, accelerate slowly and do not change gear when engine is yelling (high rpms) rather change gears as soon as u feel there will not be any knocking if u change it. that way your car will eat way less fuel. secondly change your air filter after every 1000 km (that's my practice; 200 rupees after 1000km wont hurt). lastly, get your car tuned from Suzuki authorized dealership and ask then to adjust timing. if the timing is too advanced then it will affect mileage.

OIL Change is made every 4000km, air filters always cleaned after 250km, very soft pedal drive my speed doesnt increase from 60 and i shift into 4 gear as soon as i reach 40 km/h, tire pressure is always 29 psi.

do you think maybe engine oil is making this ****?

i take all these precautions, can you please enlighten me with this timing thing.

get over the fact mehran is not a poor man car instead of buying a mehran in 800k you should have gone for city at least it gave 15km/l

If you get your tires inflated when they are hot, bump them up to 35 psi; it will fall down to 29-30 once they are cold.

How are your driving conditions by the way? Super highway or full on Empress Market scene?

Thanks for the tire pressure tip. will surely do it your way from now on. my driving is mostly in johar and gulshan e iqbal. medium traffic.

finally, after getting it tuned and this time properly, made all queries changed oil from shell to zic A, changed air filter , tappet work also done. just spark plugs were used the same. And ma sha allah average changed

For an 800 CC car with EFI, even 15 km/litre is not enough. it shoulg give you at least 17/18 kms

My mehran 2006 68k driven gives 13-14 local and 18-20 on motorways and i use Zic A 10W40 drain it at 3000km with air and oil filter. Tuning after 5000km. Engine oil has lot of effect on fuel economy, the cars with 20W50 tend to give low mileage because thick oil makes engine work more hard hence more fuel consumed.

Well all you people are forgetting one of the most important factor which may effect the fuel economy; the front wheel alignment. If your car wheel alignment is out then your car is dragging and consequently has a negative effect on engine performance. Furthermore check for any extra weight placed in the car uselessly and if so remove it. Switch off your car engine during long signal lights and traffic jams. Check and set the engine idle speed around 800 RPM. Also check the condition of tires. If these are worn out or become too hard then change it. All the best. ^^If the car is new, you should not care about the fuel economy. You should be worried more about breaking it in properly; running it through the gears, with variations in RPM. Include plenty of engine braking.
