Some thoughts...
I had never owned Mehran before, and neither did my father, so I was always the kind of person who did not get why people buy and keep mehrans. Being a working professional now, I see that the car solves an important problem very elegantly:
It gives people early in their careers, or people who are moving from two-wheelers to four wheelers, the time, conveneince, and costs savings, to show up everyday and build themselves without having to worry about expensive repairs.
Subjective Norms
One of the most noticable behaviors I have noticed on the road is that people who are driving bigger cars, specially newer suzukis and corollas, do not like it when a mehran overtakes them, or is generally running on fast lane. The drawback comes in the form of agression from their end or mean looks.
Expectations Management
I did not have very high hopes when I was buying the car. However, I am genuinely impressed by how smooth the car is, how fast it accelerates, how good the brakes are (yes, they don't have servos but when applied with force they are good)
Engine Performance
This car's engine is amazing in the sense that it is always eager to accelerate and never did I feel for once that I did not have enough power. Accelerating, no matter by how much, is always really easy and manageable. Even the gearbox is good enough and I change gears effortlessly with two fingers provided now I know exactly which position and angle engages the gear. The clutch is really soft and ideal for traffic.
Suspension
Suspension is underwhelming. Seats are more than amazing - for someone coming from rock hard seats in WagonR - and they compensate for the bumpy ride.
