Yesterday, something strange happened.
I had been noticing some plastic burning smell from the AC vents for some days now, but I largely ignored it. Around 7pm, I was driving on 60, when sudddenly the car stopped accelerating. I downshifted. Nothing.
Then the car stopped and won't start at all. I parked it at the corner and switched on the blinkers. Almost immediately, a Chaha came and claimed to be a mechanic. He was really friendly and enthusiastic about helping me, so I was extremely vary. He was constantly saying yahan dakeith ajatey hain mobile wallet chupa lo etc.
He ripped apart some wires below dashboard, but everything was okay there. Then he worked on some relays. No matter what I said or did, I could not see him working and he won't answer what he was doing. Finally, he claimed that the relay for coils had been fused and showed me there were no sparks in the plugs. He changed the relay, and finally, it worked and car started. He asked a whopping 1500 rupees for doing the work.
I was extremely sleep deprived and tired, so after some negotiation, I let him go with 1200. But, I am very skeptical of the car going forward. I am suspecting there will be a lot of electrical issues in the car, given it has central locking already installed. Reminds me of a similar problem in cuore when fan relay had gone and car heated itself to death,
What are your suggestions everyone for relays and electricals?
