Ur talking about experienced mechanic....how about an inexperienced mechanic with a GENUINE COIL that company is Giving u.....ur making ur own theories...u hav kept a mehran for 7 yearss..nd i have kept 3 mehrans within 7 years....nd coil is no issue as long as u havv orignal one...

dude ask any electrical engineer magnetic coil is newer why does newer cars use these? and not merhan wala from the 80's its better
plus u are right according to ur experience but the one kabuli is all wahsed up and new one which they say is JENIAN isn't at all

Agar lagti toh kia maza hota ma mehran sale na karta cultus ka g10b efi swap kara leta aur pher mehran ki speede hoti
and i have alto now and coil in alto looks same but it isn't same wiring is different

on the electronic coils - the ignition dwell should be precisely set otherwise you will kill the coil in short time - secondly before installing any ignition coil measure its primary resitance, if too low you will burn out your CB points. A proper resistor is required to make the resistance correct, some coils have a built in resistor and some have different resistance values. Measure and work correctly.

Last comes the starting signal wire to the coil, if the coil has a dedicated port then good, if not then you need to use your head to correctly make it work - on most jap cars the principle of self solenoid not pulling in with 9V is what they are running on, some old starters in Mehrans and Bolans had a separate terminal that is used to connect to the ignition coil before the resistor.

Sir spot on that's why i mentioned any bubbon with wire cutter and tape can't install it and my car had that resistor it was white block and wires first went to the resistor then the coil my alto has same coil but no resistor its direct plug

What u mean by that brass cover which is on the filler woh nahi hai
bhai aaj kal 50 rs ka sticker milta hai ps CNG wala take pics of both ur cylnder and Kit then will really tell its FF or local
Air filter se kafi farak parta hai after 5000km mehran tappets karvana mangti hai do CNG tunning and tappets air filter gaurd wala best hai

replace the air filter brand guard, purchase and fit CNG nozzle cover now my car gives 1KM cost Rs.5.6......change aaya hai car main pehlai 1km per Rs. 9.3 Tha, some people says that Rs5.6 per KM is still bad......

Well some improvement is better then nothing do tappets adjustment as well change oil and oil filter bhoat farak parta hai bhai it will cost u even less use gaurd oil filter and engine oil if ur car is new then zic a 10w-40 if old then go for zic hi flow or mobil 20W-50

I owned a Mehran VXR CNG which I brought new in 2003. Sold it in 2006 after driving 36000Km. Factory fitted A/C was ok in Karachi's humid heat but when I moved to Pindi it started to over heat the car. Suzuki Pindi checked everything but could not find the reason why it was over heating. At 30,000Km while on GT Road the car quit after missing a few times! Turned out some teeth of the timing belt had broken causing the engine to die. Had the belt changed at a roadside mechanic. Apart from these issues it was a reliable and economical car but very uncomfortable and unsafe. :S

till 2004 mehran were better but after that tin cans nothing else esp the gray dash models are just crap

So today, I finally got a chance to take my car for replacing the clutch plate. The clutch was in a really bad state as the car would not go beyond 40kmph. Here is a list of things I bought:
Exedy Clutch and Pressure plate: 3400 Rs
Clutch Bearing: 550 Rs.
Labour: 1000 Rs.
Top bearing: 120 Rs.
Laithe machine guy: 500 Rs.
1 RHS indicator assembly: 75 Rs.

While surfing this site I noticed some users preferring 'Tockikco' chinese shocks. I will be very thankful if some Mehran owners share their experience regarding these shocks.
I would like to know their:-
1) Performance.
2) Life.
3) Price.

new ones cost about 2500 a piece something like that and tockiko i believe is Japanese brand
i gone for kabuli tockikco ones and ride was good and kabuli can last upto 1.5 years if u drive hard

Yea it's running OK. Some new problems have surfaced after getting the clutch changed:

1-Car heats up. Or maybe I'm too finicky, but the temperature needle is going past the half mark, Almost to the H. Before the clutch job, it used to stay somewhere around the 25% mark. Never went to half.
2-It's also consuming water. I have to pour some (around half a liter) each and every day. But I checked the motor oil and it's still brownish in color. No signs of water mixing.
3-The initial pick is good, but mid gear (in all gears) the torque just seem to end. I'm talking about driving on CNG.

I think I have to get the head gasket checked. But it's performance on CNG is very disppointing.

it seems Ustaz jee has done some 2 nori in fitting it seems isn't properly fitted in place putting and putting load on the engine don't go for head gasket work first
open clutch plate first and make meachinc take it all out i bet some wear and tear will be on it and make him fit that again with proper tools and alignment check clutch barring as well some times new ones give up too early
if it doesn't work then u might opt for gasket but my 2 cents if head needs to be opened then let the engine cool down first like don't open the engine before 4-5hrs when it idled

The mechanic that I go to is atleast half an hour away from my place, and going to him means that your day has been wasted. Thing is, he had hired 2 new guys (probably in their late teens) and you could tell they were trouble by looking at them. One of them broke my key while it was in the ignition. The same kid was seen by me manhandling the radiator and supporting ancillaries, so I'm dead sure something did go wrong while assembling the things back after the clutch job.

I today, opted to get the car checked from someplace near to my residence. Went to a place called Delta motors in DHA Phase 2 and asked them to check the head gasket, told him the symptoms.

Upon lifting the hood, the fellow immidiately diagnosed a chocked radiator! We then checked and did not find any bubbles appearing in the radiator so the head gasket according to him is OK allah ka shukar.

Went to a radiator guy nearby for servicing. He took 400 bucks and made the radiator close to new mashallah. I also changed the water reserve bottle. One other thing, I have always have been using water in both my cars. For the 1st time, I switched to the green coolant.

The radiator guy also said that your fan was wired wrong and that it was rotating the opposite way :o As of now, the car is not showing any signs of over-heating mashallah but it's too early to tell anyways. Will report back in a week or two.

Before the clutch work, the car was not overheating one bit, was only consuming a little water, around 200-300ml each day.

that was due to the choked radiator. the water would reach high temperatures and would evaporate but not an extent that your car gets a heat up. that's the reason for you loosing water in the first p[lace. and if something was wrong with your transmission or to be precise the clutch plates the car would not accelerate at high speeds and would seem like something is holding it back.
