and get rid of this green coolant.. its a waste of money and will not stop damages on your car. ho for the Guard coolant instead it seems pretty good and is under budget. you can get a liter for 250Rs. your car requires at least 3 liters of coolant mixture that is 60%coolant and 40% distilled water. And before the coolant change flush the car's cooling system with tap water and see the results for your self.

The mechanic that I go to is atleast half an hour away from my place, and going to him means that your day has been wasted. Thing is, he had hired 2 new guys (probably in their late teens) and you could tell they were trouble by looking at them. One of them broke my key while it was in the ignition. The same kid was seen by me manhandling the radiator and supporting ancillaries, so I'm dead sure something did go wrong while assembling the things back after the clutch job.

I today, opted to get the car checked from someplace near to my residence. Went to a place called Delta motors in DHA Phase 2 and asked them to check the head gasket, told him the symptoms.

Upon lifting the hood, the fellow immidiately diagnosed a chocked radiator! We then checked and did not find any bubbles appearing in the radiator so the head gasket according to him is OK allah ka shukar.

Went to a radiator guy nearby for servicing. He took 400 bucks and made the radiator close to new mashallah. I also changed the water reserve bottle. One other thing, I have always have been using water in both my cars. For the 1st time, I switched to the green coolant.

The radiator guy also said that your fan was wired wrong and that it was rotating the opposite way :o As of now, the car is not showing any signs of over-heating mashallah but it's too early to tell anyways. Will report back in a week or two.

Hope fully this was ur problemo and i agree Gaurd coolant is batter got it in friends santro and its cheap works good then green coolant

Good info mate thanks! I'm going to flush the thing tomorrow inshallah. Are you sure Guard is a good brand? Because I've heard mixed comments about their filters and brake fluids.

You know what I've experienced? Even if you stand on your heads, they'll show their fankaari somewhere or the other. Denter and Mechanics are a breed of their own.

plus buy guard from some reputed place then chances of fake product are minimized

i have a 2001 petrol mehran and i have got a problem.
its like my car is running on cng means pick is quite low. also when i am in first gear and i press accelerator it feels like it has hit the rev limit and feels like someone is pulling the car back. instead of speed increase car speed goes down as i press accelerator. what is the problem?

Could be Clutch plate
when was the last time it was replaced ?
plus tuning tappets etc done or not
check plugs as well might be short

i am having top speed issue with my 2004 model mehran --- it was all good till last month 120-125 km/h on petrol & 110-115 km/h on cng. Now it's 105-108 km/h on petrol & 95-98 km/h on cng.

one electrician told me that there's some problem with distributor timing, i got the work done but same problem.

Now one mechanic is saying to change the clutch plates -- i am actually sick & tired of the bongis of these jahil desi mechanics.

Plz guide me what to do (i am not much aware of these technical things) and plz recommend me a good sensible mechanic of mehran in lahore.

clutch: replaced 3 years ago. when should one replace plugs and plug wires.

Plugs about 20K max as most we get a china made ones
did u noted the millage when it was replaced all symptoms ur telling is clutch plate might be worn out

Sir it looks like tuning issue to me batter get car tuned from ENERCON computerized tuning they will adjust tappets check points clean plugs and all that stuff plus check cylncer is it broken at any place
check plug wires if worn out go for ultima or any 8mm available cost 500 to 650 of plug wires

yar agar cluch ka problem hota then pick should also have been low in other gears. but car runs fine in 3rd and 4rth gear. in third gear when in press accelerator then i don't have any rev problem or car engine reving but no speed increase which means that no clutch slip also there is no jerk when i engage gears.. i will get tappets checked but what other causes can there be for such issue. it really makes driving difficult.

the car has done 50-55k with current clutch plates, i think they are ok.

i think you're talking about the air filter (that circular meshed thing, right?) .. it is good for your engine but doesn't help a lot in car's performance may 5-10% .. cuz it just filter the clean air to your car's engine.. instead if you want performance get your car some high end spark plugs... =)

then it could be jammed tappets plus exhaust gasket leak its its behind exhaust manifold

Sir don't have any idea where it is in ur city plus 55K with one clutch plate is more then enough but a nice clutch plate with gentle driving can last up to 5 years in a mehran

Bro i done that and found out what Taz mentioned 8mm wires with high end spark plugs work batter on mehran with intake it sounds nice but not a lot of difference

Are tociko soft shocks available for the rear too, becuz I think front would not be enough.
