Mehran Strange Heating Issue

Assalam o ALaikum

Bhaiyon mere pas mehran 2008 model. Recently mene uski service karvai hai. Service k baad se weird heating issue aana start hogaya hai. Car kuch kilometers bilkul sahi temperature maintain karti hai lekin phir achanak se temperature needle half se above chali jati hai and then it comes down to normal range.

Radiator fan auto hai. Thermostat bhi installed hai. Service karane se pehle car ki heat needle kabhi half se upar nahi gai lekin ab after service, driving karte waqt bech bech mein achanal half se upar chali jati hai.

Fan bhi sahi turn on horaha hai. Radiator bhi check karvaliya hai, no choking/rust at all. Im using suzuki coolant in car.

Baqi coolant reduce horaha hai.time to time top up karna parhta hai. car se koi smoke nahi araha hai.

Can anyone help?

I haven't inspected the fan yet neither the radiator cap. I will do it just to make sure

Does a bad radiator cap shows these kind of symptoms?

Btw, which radiator should I use? 0.9, 88kPa R-124 or 0.9, 88kPa R123? Can you enlighten some differences between R-123 & R-124 cap?

Radiator bhi check karvaliya hai, no choking/rust at all. Im using suzuki coolant in car.

Baqi coolant reduce horaha hai.time to time top up karna parhta hai. car se koi smoke nahi araha hai

if raidator is not choking, no rust and you are also using coolant..
the other things left to check only are radiator cap and hoses or pipes that are leaking very very slightly jiski waja se apko coolant top up karna parta hai ..

agar coolant kam nahi hoga to car ko heat nahi hona chahiye.

your radiator is choked this is the first symptoms you wil face the up and down in temperature needle. when you will service you will see the fins in radiator will be blocked as your mehran is 2008 model and suzuki coolant are just like local NASA coolant which can only last for 1 year after the 1 year that coolant have glycenol jelly type equipment which blocks the fins.

and when your fan start check the throw of that fan is low or what?

see this pic shows that that pakwheel forum user faces same issue he also sloved every problem problem exist but after cleaning the radiator his problem solved.

@Xulfiqar @rodgeranhx5170 @shakeel9045 sir the over heating problem has been solved (at least for now). The culprit was radiator. All most all the lines were chocked. I don't know from where did this much rust come. I have this car for last 3/4 yrs. I never noticed coolant loss nor any coolant color change whenever I removed the radiator cap. As said earlier, I never used water for topping up any coolant loss. Well, for now we have put tap water to see if there is any leakage. After inspect…

@Massive_One bro, Regarding radiator cap, yes i will definitely check it up to see if it has gone bad. Can you please let me know how can I diagnose bad radiator cap?

@xshaikh1, thankyou so much for giving references. I will check out this post. But i have one confusion bro, if car radiator is choked then why car doesn't heat up straight away,? for few kilometers car maintains its temperature just fine, after driving like 30 minutes, car temperature atarts going above half.

As @xhaikh1 has pointed about the problem I was facing, your issue is most probably a choked radiator. In a choked radiator, the car has normal temp unless it is unable to compensate the heat generated due to limited fluid circulation. Just like your car, my car was giving same issue. Driving for around 15 km, it would start over heating. Then after a couple of minutes, it would again get to normal temp. After getting the coagulation out of radiator fins, it is running perfectly. I would advice you to get it's radiator inspected.

might be there few fins would be block that is why. and please tell me in which city do u live as in karachi there is mostly heat wave weather situation so you can also remove the thermostate valve and fan on auto so there will be no heat but before doing this solve your current problem. mehran are already is famous for heating up issues.

I see. I will get my radiator checked then asap. Probably its the culprit as you have explained it thoroughly.

@xshaikh1 i live in karachi. This issue has only started since last month when I got my car full serviced and washed. Only then this problem has started.

Happened to my alto too. On long route the needle used to cross middle but in city stayed at optimum temp (normally cars heat up in stop and go traffic) radiator was the culprit. Get it serviced drain all of Suzuki coolant and pour in caltex aisin Toyota honda, any good quality coolant. As far as radiator cap is concerned, take off the cap and inspect its spring plus rubber if its worn out, time to change that as well. The radiator wala can also advise you for cap change.

Once switching from Suzuki to some other coolant make sure that you flush out all the previous coolant, mixing two coolant is never a good idea. That's why I am sticking to honda genuine coolant in my city and not switching to caltex one (despite my love for caltex products )
