Mercedes A160/ W168 - ECU / Immobilizer - Key programming

ECU Number : A 0275457532 [7]
Model : A160 (Benzin/Petrol)

I need urgent help with my brother's car in Karachi Pakistan. We're facing a "start failure" issue. Searching in internet I found out the problem can be Key or Immobilizer.

Our local mechanic suggested removing the ECU, key, sensor, and immobilizer and bringing them to him all these part of another car. I've already collected these parts from a junkyard.

Now, after sending the parts, the "start error" is gone, but the car still won't start. Maybe the used ECU we got doesn't fit our A160 W168 (BENZIN) and does not have our VIN number or engine number, or it has issues. Do we need to reset or personalize the ECU?

Does this model of car require online SCN coding? Our mechanic only has Star diagnostics, not DAS or Xentry.

I came across the Julie PRO emulator online. In my opinion this will be my second option to just disable the immobilizer and use emulator.

Not fully aware or an expert, however, usually when you replace an ECU, it must be coded to the car.

You'll need to find someone or a dealer with the software/ability to do this

You need to first virginize the ecu before you can write it, its a 5 step process and not all tooling can handle it.

You can snapshot the old ecu and write the new one, however if you have lost it you will need to scn code.

What was scanned for the startup error to determine a failed ecu?
