Aoa, hope everyone is fine. I recently got great response about bmw. I am looking to buy a car. After getting reviews for bmw. Someone suggested to go for a mercedes. Can you guys help me with this one? Reviews on this car. Average, maintenance , what to look for before buying a merc etc. Also let me know if there’s a better merc for a student. What does a 2006 model should approximately cost? 100,000 mileage.

A convertible in Pakistan is not really a good idea. We have extreme weather here with a lot of dust in the atmosphere. Most of the year you would not be able to enjoy the roof down experience. And even in winter the roof down means dust, smoke, noise pollution and unwanted stares from everyone. I would suggest a sedan or a two door coupe if you really insist on a sporty look. My two cents and I hope you get what you are looking for

This car was probably never imported officially into Pakistan so you'll only find a few units available. As for reviews, I can only suggest a visit to Google.

CLK200s are very reliable, few issues if any, provided they were well-kept. It has the same engine as a C180/C200 so parts are somewhat easily available. It does have the timing chain issue so make sure you buy one with maintenance history. Buy the facelift model (models made during and after 2005).

It is just as, if not more, costly to maintain as a w204 c180 or c200 so bear that in mind. Even oil changes cost 4 or 5 times as much they do for a normal Civic from Honda Center.

Also. Can you guys let me know an approximate price of a 2006 model? There’s an ad of 38lacs. And he says the final he could go is 35. Is it reasonable?

I meant that maintenance costs for a clk200 are somewhat comparable to a w204 2007 C Class.

Can't comment on price since these are rare cars within Pakistan and price usually correlates with condition; if its in good condition then the asking might usually be somewhat high. Bear in mind these cars tend to depreciate a lot if kept for long periods (something which I've experienced firsthand). Make sure it has maintenance history.
