Hello to all. Just thought I'd share some pics of my latest project.I am working on Swapping 2JZGE into my 1990 e260.

Reason for swapping....... original motor produce only 135 Bhp and 175 Nm torque! 2Jz with little mods provides 295Bhp and 368 Nm torque :-). plus RELIABILITY.. so m happy with this conversion. second thing is mounts of 2jz and m103 are almost same.

your feedback and comments would be appreciated.....

i believed N/A 2JZGE produce 220bhp....i think u meant 2JZGTE which is twin turbo

2JZ-GE is 220 bhp, what little Mods you have done to develop 295 BHP ?

3 words, dont do it.

many people insist on uprating power on such cars without considering all the other things needed to do like bushes, brakes etc. I have a W124 and it's already plenty powerful with just 190hp adding a 2JZ-GTE is just pure madness, specially in such an aged chassis.

@storm, agreed up to some extent.. there is a guy i know, he got W ...i dunno what.. its a e280 or something, 1985 model.. maroon color, total genuine.. the guy bought the car home, took it to his workshop.. it required no work.. and swaps with a 2jz.. says CDI is too hard to maintain.. now the parked car is sooooooooo silent you cant tell if its start or not.. it drives with such beauty and comfort.. the chasis and car body is so huge that it didnt compromise the balance at all.. the only thing that got him crunching was to get the ABS wo work again.. 1 month later he had it all figured out and including abs everything works like a charm...

the mercedes rear ends are not happy with toyota boxes, and to top the cake - I'll tell you a little note from the mercedes 124 workshop manual.

The propeller shaft is balanced - both 2 shafts, then the two yokes included, if a little mistake in assembly is done as to align the shaft one spline tooth off on either piece it will make the car shudder and drone on various speeds

then there are the rubber flex discs on the prop shaft, if they tear up (usually trans side) the outcome is disastrous - the transmission tunnel gets damaged, air bags if equipped will fire due to the shock and your transmission will deteriorate to pieces, and the prop shaft would be scrap metal.

I know for sure there are no lathe specialists in Pakistan who have a prop shaft balancing machine (cutting and welding yes - Balancing, no) - and yes I know the 2JZ transmission uses a flex disc too - but of completely different design which is not compatible with a mercedes shaft.

If you ever worked on a Benz (specially a 124) you will come to know how much thought went into designing it. Every little detail.
