Hello @xulfiqar and guys,
Sorry for digging up this post but I had to do it. I'm planning to get an RX8 with a properly-maintained Renesis engine. Is there anyway I can bring the car over to you or your garage and get it inspected by someone worth his weight in synthetic motor oil? I don't think asking for your number of this forum would be ideal so please give me a call or whatsapp on my number: 0300-8202675 (Usman) -TIA
XULFIQAR is no more in pak
BTW what the point of killing a rx8/7 with a swap every car goes fast even I am rev my 1.3l family sedan to its limites but the point is how the car handles the high speed a swapped rx8/7 will never regain it control for which these are famous for
no doubt swapping engines in rx8 is pointless on all levels, but is rotary especially the newer renesis ones such as in rx8 really that good a engine? we might blame pakistan and lack of knowledge of owners here for poor reliability but even abroad with mazda dealerships the engine has had a very poor record and there were thousands of warranty claims which mazda had to fulfill.
there were some defect in stator motor and ecu programming for oil flow in rx8 which were later rectified by mazda but here in pak rx8 are grey import so we didn't received any update
BTW what about rx4 there were some in karachi back in 80era I guess never heard of a rx4 being swapped
all RX4 and RX5 were swapped with mazda 808 and mazda 929 engines. The early RX7s faced that fate also, nearly 95% of them had mazda 808 engines in them, the select handful which had the rotary were owned by enthusiasts (who are now dead or have left).
The ending life of the select few FB rotaries was seen as "too jay zedd daalo baba - zara sarak pe naach karao gaari ka"
I have RX8 with rotary and mileage is 87000km and still going strong. if you take care of it then it will take care of you. and also people who can afford to live with rotary should buy it.. swapping sucks because it will disable DSC Button and all other gadgets.
I have heard that ABS and traction control uses same sensors (but different Control unt) so if swapping engine in rx8 result in traction control sensor so does that means even ABS suffers :o
abs works but tc is disabled because it needs info from original ecu about demands from driver and condition of engine so it can feedback to back off of power if necessary.
bro but traction control have different control unit it doesn't rely on ecu
